I've got to ask

[edit]

I've got to ask, has anyone else accually researched the information contained in this page? I find the whole idea off the mark, and as a Soviet World War Two historian, i've seen very little about the 'teleplane' talked about at the end of this bit. Alot is just 'assumed' as very little has come out that's really true. Alot is hype. After a while of scouring the internet, i've found http://www.battlefield.ru/index.php?...mid=33&lang=ru http://www.odintsovo.info/news/?id=1683 http://armor.kiev.ua/Tanks/WWI/1sov/index.php?page=8 To be speaking about the teletank program, but with all the research that i've done, I find that there is no evidence that the teletank accually WORKED. Meaning, we really know very little about the project. Yes, the government of the USSR had such plans at the start of WWII, but these where simply scraped at the beginning of the war. The tanks 'antenna' pictured in this page is most likely for talking between tanks, and not for controling the tank.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.179.164.79 (talk) 07:00, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They actually worked and took part in the Winter War (against Finland). They were not used in the Great Patriotic War (indeed they were, but only as conventional tanks). This is because the desingn was well suitable to accurately storm heavy fortifications such as Mannerheim line but proved ineffective in manouver, dynamic warfare and in defence.--Dojarca (talk) 08:28, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
