Modern Collections

[edit]

Hi everyone. Reading the article I noticed that the Modern Collection section is not updated. All products are promoted as one label: Trussardi (as indicated here and here). I would leave the Trussardi collection in the foreground and move Tru Trussardi and Trussardi Jeans into a subsection dedicated to previous collections.

Find below a proposal to update the section which I would simply rename "Collections". I have highlighted the changes and additions made in yellow. What do you think about this? Thank you very much for your help :) --Stephanie Epiro (talk) 14:52, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Modern Collections

In May 2021, with the appointment of Serhat Işik and Benjamin A. Huseby as new creative directors, the brand has started a new course under a single label, Trussardi.[1][2] Current collections for the fashion house are Trussardi, Tru Trussardi, and Trussardi Jeans. Each of these lines has their own stand-alone stores and covers different aspects of the house's customer base: traditional, a younger crowd, and casual. The company also had a third line that has since closed labeled "Tru Trussardi".

Trussardi

Trussardi is the mainline collection of the fashion house, which releases the group's ready-to-wear line and couture collections. It designs clothing for both men and women. The 2014 collection was partially inspired by the films of Jean-Luc Godard and François Truffaut. Nicole Phelps wrote of the Trussardi line that, "The Trussardi family business is one of Italy's ultimate heritage houses, with a century-plus history of leather goods artisanship."

Trussardi Junior

Trussardi Junior is the fashion house's children's clothing line, first released in 1983 alongside the company's first ready-to-wear collections. There are two collections for Trussardi Junior, the main collection and the top collection. In 2013 Trussardi licensed the creation of the line to Italian fashion house Pinco Pallino through 2018. The recent partnership with Brave Kid (of OTB group) was launched with the first fall winter 2017/18 collection.

Home design

For home décor Trussardi also produced MY Design, with the MY standing for industrial designer Michael Young. His collection was released in 2011, and was inspired by Nicola's work on the interior of aircraft in the 1980s. Trussardi Casa, the collection's current furniture line, was released and presented in 2014 at the Milan Furniture Fair. In 2016 Trussardi launched a partnership with Dynamic Yachts to produce, through Trussardi Casa, a whole collection designed for D4 vessels.

Past collections

  • Tru Trussardi - Tru Trussardi was the house's more casual collection, with its own stand alone stores. Tru Trussardi releases clothing and accessories. As part of the corporate restructuring carried out in 2016, the Tru Trussardi line was closed.
  • Trussardi Jeans - Trussardi Jeans is the denim line for the fashion house, founded in 1986. The line produces casual wear for both men and women.

Licensed Collections

[edit]

Hi everyone, regarding the Collections section, I think it would perhaps be even more appropriate to leave only Trussardi among the collections and move Trussardi Junior and Home design to the Partnerships and licenses section. As is highlighted in the text, these are in fact licenses legally held by other companies and not lines directly developed by the company. Furthermore, in order not to lose the information currently present on the page, the first paragraph of Home design could be added to the History section as it refers to historical information more than to the specific partnership developed.

Please kindly find below a possible reorganisation of the order of information. I have highlighted in yellow the information that is currently available for Trussardi Junior and Home design which I have placed under History and Partnerships and licences.

Let me know your thoughts and thank you for your kind support. -- Stephanie Epiro (talk) 14:15, 3 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I did not see mention of 1980s aircraft inspiring the MY Design collection in the sources provided. I found and added a source that says Trussardi's 1980s and 1990s designs inspired the 2011 collection, and revised the sentence to reflect this. I omitted the W Magazine source because the link is dead. I left the sentence about Trussardi Casa's release in the Collections section so it still held a place there, like the other collections do. Also, I spaced and arranged the partnerships content in chronological order and edited the highlighted sentences to avoid redundancy/wordiness. History

2000s

Francesco Trussardi, Nicola's son, became chairman of the brand after his father's death in 1999. His sister Beatrice also took a leadership position with the company.[1] After her brother's death in 2003, Beatrice became president and CEO of the fashion house, staying president until Maria Luisa Trussardi took over the position.[2] In 2006 the brand hired Eric Wright, who had previously designed for Fendi, to be the house's head designer.[3] In 2008 Trussardi launched the super high-end line of brand Trussardi dal 1911, designed by Milan Vukmirovic.[2] For home décor, in 2011 Trussardi released the collection MY Design, with the MY standing for industrial designer Michael Young, inspired by Nicola's work on the interior of aircraft in the 1980s.[4][5] In 2011 Umit Benan Sahin became the label's creative director, and in 2013 Sahin was replaced by Gaia Trussardi. Prior to becoming creative director for the mainline collections, Gaia had already served as the creative director for Tru Trussardi and Trussardi Jeans.[6] For the 40th anniversary of their logo, Yuko Shimizu produced an animated short film entitled "Sky Watcher".[7]

In 2017 Trussardi launched its latest men's fragrance Riflesso. Said to have ambrosial wafts of woody and oriental notes.[8] In April 2018, Gaia Trussardi stepped down as creative director of the fashion house.[9]

In February 2019, the asset management company Quattro R acquired 60% of Trussardi.[10][11] A few months later, Maela Mandelli (former PVH director) was named CEO of the company.[12] Then in October 2020, Sebastian Suhl was named CEO of Trussardi.[13] In May 2021, Benjamin Huseby and Serhat Isik were named creative directors Trussardi.[14]

Partnerships and licenses

In 2015 the brand licensed De Rigo to design, manufacture and distribute its eyewear line.[15] The brand also has a perfume line (Trussardi Parfums) which has expanded to 28 varieties.[16] In the 2013-14 season, Trussardi also began designing the off-field uniforms for Juventus Football Club.[17] In 2014, Trussardi formed a partnership with Morellato for the Trussardi Orologi line of Swiss made timepieces.[18] That year the company also formed a partnership with Tollegno 1900 to produce a line of underwear, nightwear and beachwear.[19] In 2016 Trussardi partnered with Lardini to create the men’s formalwear line Trussardi Elegance which was inaugurated in Milan with the fall winter 2017/18 collection.[20] Fashion Streetwear Italia has the licence to produce the collection Trussardi for Your Dog.[21]In 2013 Trussardi licensed the creation of the Trussardi Junior line, the fashion house's children's clothing line first released in 1983 alongside the company's first ready-to-wear collections, to Italian fashion house Pinco Pallino through 2018.[22] The recent partnership with Brave Kid (of OTB group) was launched with the first fall winter 2017/18 collection.[23] Trussardi has a licensed partnership with Luxury Living Group to produce furniture under the Trussardi Casa brand.[24] Trussardi Casa was released and presented in 2014 at the Milan Furniture Fair.[25] In 2016 Trussardi launched also a partnership with Dynamic Yachts to produce, through Trussardi Casa, a whole collection designed for D4 vessels.[26]
