Something is wrong with this template, it is not displaying correctly on Portishead Railway Jezhotwells (talk) 23:23, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It looks OK to me, what do you think is not being displayed correctly?Pyrotec (talk) 12:23, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think that when I added the 4th ref, I forgot to take out the /noinclude, so raid ref was showing up at the top of the page. -mattbuck (Talk) 13:47, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This map is wrong.

[edit]

After looking at other sources I cannot find any reference to a new station being relocated after 1954. Using the maps of the era, it was the Pier station that closed not Portishead. Further more there is no mention of the Weston, Clevedon and Portishead Light Railway which also used Portishead as a terminus until 1940. 86.160.184.167 (talk) 10:55, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The WC&P had its own station at Portishead, although there was a siding connection to allow goods wagons to be exchanged between the two lines. Geof Sheppard (talk) 13:58, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The 1954 built new station is labelled GWR, and I think the loop is an assumption. This diagram needs work. Britmax (talk) 14:28, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There are references to the closure and relocation of Portishead station and photographs of the new 1954 station. See for instance Ken Crowhurst (2001), Images of England: Portishead. Its also likely to be in local newspapers since buildings, listed as the Local Labour Exchange, a British Legion hut, the Scout's HQ, a blacksmiths and a jewellers shop, were demolished to provide the site for the new railway station. Portishead station closed to allow the construction of an coal-fired electricity power station, "Portishead B". The fate of the Pier station is entirely different. That is also well documented. As of 2001, both the Pier Station building and the adjacent hotel building were described as still being there. I've not yet been to check if that is still the case: both power stations are long gone that the area has changed considerable due to redevelopment. Diagram distances

[edit]

The distance (from Paddington I'd guess) for Portishead junction is not in order for the adjacent points. The diagram has:

130-29 Portishead Pier

129-75 Portishead(GWR) (1867–1954)

129-43 Portishead Junction

129-65 Portishead(1954–1964)

127-77 Portbury

Is this a typo for one of the distances or is the diagram wrong?2ghoti (talk) 12:28, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Portishead 1954 station

[edit]
Portishead Pier
Portishead (1867–1954)
Portishead Junction
Weston, Clevedon and Portishead Light Railway
Portishead (1954–1964)
Portbury

The Portishead area is wrong: the 1954 station is shown as a through station, in fact it was a terminus lying to the southwest of the original line, facing Wyndham Way close to the junction with Ferndale Road. The little diagram here is what I'm aiming for, but I can't update the main RDT because it's been converted to that horrid {{routemap}} format, so @Mattbuck, Useddenim, and Xenophon Philosopher: one of you will have to fix this. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:29, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

 Done. Useddenim (talk) 00:55, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
