UNK 165184 C VFA-37 A/C was involved in bombing fratricide when 3 Mk-82 bombs were dropped on a friendly observation post killing six and wounding 11 at Al Udairi Range, Kuwait.

3-Dec-1985 162395 A VX-4 A/C departed runway at NAS Miramar during landing roll and overturned. Miramar crash crew worked feverishly for about 30 minutes to free the strapped-in pilot from the cockpit. The crew eventually brought in a crane to lift the front of the jet fighter high enough to pull him out. Despite spilling its fuel, the plane did not burn. Killed was CAPT Henry M. Kleemann, one of two Navy pilots who shot down Libyan fighters in the Gulf of Sidra on 19 Aug 1981.

162395 A VX-4 A/C departed runway at NAS Miramar during landing roll and overturned 3-DEC-85. Miramar crash crew worked feverishly for about 30 minutes to free the strapped-in pilot from the cockpit. The crew eventually brought in a crane to lift the front of the jet fighter high enough to pull him out. Despite spilling its fuel, the plane did not burn. Killed was CAPT Henry M. Kleemann, one of two Navy pilots who shot down Libyan fighters in the Gulf of Sidra on 19 Aug 1981.
