Arnold Krasny

Dr. Arnold Krasny, an Austrian lawyer, who prepared thesis of the first Austrian Electrification Act during his works at the Austian Ministry of Public Works in 1917.

He was inspired by similar legal regulations issued in Italy and Switzerland at the same time. In his book Aufgaben der Elektrizitatsgesetzgebung mit dem Entwurf eines allgemeinen Elektrizitaetsgesetzes (Vienna, 1910), he promoted the monopolistic approach to the electricity industry.

According to the political situation in Austria - Hungary, his thesis were never proclaimed to law. However, after the end of the World War I, his work was accepted by preparing the new electrification legislative in Austria as well as in the Czechoslovakia.
