Avangrid, Inc. (formerly Energy East and Iberdrola USA), is an energy services and delivery company founded in 2008. AVANGRID serves about 3.2 million customers throughout the state of New York and New England while Avangrid Renewables support customers in numerous U.S. states with renewable energy sources.[1]

As a subsidiary of Avangrid, Avangrid Networks is committed to the construction and operations of renewable energy resources. As a company they promote the use of different energy sources, such as hybrid vehicles, with the ultimate goal to reduce the company's carbon footprint[2]. Avangrid Networks provides resources to 3.25 million customers located in their New York and New England regions[3]. Avangrid Renewables

Avangrid Renewables, also a subsidiary of Avangrid, serves the United States by providing renewable energy though wind, solar power, and other natural energy sources[4]. As a company, they want to transition the use of energy into clean reliable sources. In the United States, Avangrid Renewables operates in 22 different states that provides renewable energy to numerous communities throughout those states[5]. The ability of Avangrid to generate clean, renewable power from a vast number of projects allows them the opportunity to provide secure and sustainable energy sources for companies that could only rely on natural gas and power industries at one point in time. Avangrid Renewables has dominated the industry becoming a leader in off-shore and land-based wind power operations in the United States[6].

Avangrid Foundation

The Avangrid Foundation, a nonprofit subsidiary of Avangrid, is the philanthropic arm that serves the communities where its parent company operates. Originally established in 2002, the Avangrid Foundation has provided more than $21 million in investments in higher education scholarships, community and professional grants that are aimed to improve peoples lives.[7] The Avangrid Scholarship program is available to U.S. students who wish to pursue a Master's degree with an emphasis on energy and covers not only full tuition but also health insurance, fees and an additional $25,200 annually for various expenses.[8] Additional philanthropy can be found in the $1 million donation to communities for coronavirus crisis response and another donation of $1 million to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation's Bats for the Future Fund, New England Forest and rivers Fund and Northern Great Plains Programs.[9] The Avangrid Foundation is currently located in Orange, Connecticut.
