This is a list of opinions of the Supreme Court of the United States involving ineffective assistance of counsel claims—claims by criminal defendants that their convictions or sentences should be overturned, because their attorney's performance was so deficient as to deprive them of their right to counsel as guaranteed by the Sixth and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution.
