Current requests for reduction in protection level
[edit]Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.
Reason: The protection is no longer necessary because is not vandalism ....... . 2402:800:63B8:EB77:5C6:66A:D2CC:8B07 (talk) 04:46, 22 July 2024 (UTC)

Current requests for edits to a protected page
[edit]Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

I would like to apply for the File mover right to rename files. I've been contributing on Commons for quite some time now, and I've been doing lots of good file renaming requests on Wikipedia. The file movers also appreciated my rename requests [2]. I'm a file mover and patroller on Commons, and I've moved over 1000 files so far. I have a good understanding of the renaming guideline, and I think it would be really helpful also having the right here. Thank you! Waqar💬 14:08, 21 July 2024 (UTC)

- Per your discussion here Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Funnybros. It shows any editor with the motive to promote a subject either by Youtube link or any other link that are not necessary or accepted by wikipedia. You are likely to accept them. So I will be afraid if this right is being granted to you for the betterment of wikipedia. Administrators should be aware. Gabriel (talk to me ) 11:52, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- Honestly, Gabriel101, I've looked at this user's contributions, and they look more than ready to be a reviewer. On top of that, you are requesting the same rights of this user? And though I am saying the same thing as this user did on your request, did you have to say what you said here and not on the user's talk page? Apollogetticax|talk 06:58, 18 July 2024 (UTC)
- Point of correction, I am not Gabriel101. And to address your concern. If I had gone to user talk page it could have been useless or a waste of time as the same user has removed everything that was notified against him recently by other editors. I don’t know what you have looked but I see no sense in what you are saying if you have really looked as you said and not noticing an edit was stroked here. Hey there! I'm ThatOneWolf, and, I know I've been here twice before, but those times I admit I didn't really get the whole idea of experience and stuff. Plus, my last request was months ago. I took a little break recently when I just was checking my talk page and watchlist, but now I've come back to editing.
Anyway, the reason I'm requesting Reviewer rights now is because I feel like I could help in that area, with most of my edits being vandalism reversions. I also feel I suitably warn editors when I think they are intending to vandalize, or just let them know if it seems they could be trying to help. I've read all the policies listed in Wikipedia:Reviewing pending changes, and am very familiar with the copyright laws. This is why I feel I would be more fit now to receive this right. Hello! I would like to request rollback rights as I've been pretty active in countering vandalism since May. I use Twinkle and I notify new users consistently when I revert, usually by using a warn template, but other times by writing a message myself. I do my best to distinguish between good faith edits and vandalism and avoid unnecessary edit wars. Hello! I am applying for the role of rollbacker, having been a Wikipedia user for over 10 years and being increasingly active in the last few years. In this vein, I feel that I have undone my fair share of vandalism and, being mainly focused on football/sports articles, vandalism and unconstructive/unsourced edits are very common in my area of interest and editing. I believe that these rights will be very useful in maximising the efficiency of my work on Wikipedia and will save me time from undoing separate edits individually. Additionally, I have past experience as an administrator on a Wikia project, where I made use of the rollback feature and have good knowledge of its positives and when to utilise it. Thank you for taking your time to review my request. Kind regards, Vasil3fonov (talk) 12:26, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
- I see that you are failing to consistently warn editors when you revert their edits. Why? It's important to leave a notification for every revert you make. Are you aware that we have tools such as Twinkle or Ultraviolet that make this extremely easy? -Fastily 01:53, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- Firstly, I must say I was not aware of the fact that you have to leave a message for every kind of blatant vandalism that is reverted. I usually do it in cases where the user is registered and appears to have used the account for more than a single edit, where they have also done multiple similar unconstructive edits. Secondly, I did not know what the tools were used for and, usually, when I leave messages regarding things such as vandalism, I do it manually. I will take a look at the tools and perhaps make a future request if I am able to work with them properly. If not, then I suppose I will just stick to my current flow of anti-vandalism work. Thanks, Vasil3fonov (talk) 05:39, 21 July 2024 (UTC)

I'm requesting template editor privileges due to recent changes that classify parts of the Template:Occupation_by_nationality_and_century_category_header as high risk [4]. I developed this template to help manage occupation categories and have become quite familiar with template syntax over the past year, though I do not consider myself an expert. My expertise lies more in R programming, which I teach as part of a data science class.
I meet nearly all the requirements for template editor privileges, except for having syntax requests implemented in other high-risk templates. While I have edited templates that have become high risk, I acknowledge that this is not the same. However, I have made a sizable number of technical contributions to RegExTypoFix, primarily in optimizing the regular expression. This is the code underlying the spellchecker used by AWB to implement uncontroversial misspellings. If necessary, I am willing to find and suggest syntax changes to further demonstrate my capabilities. Mason (talk) 03:29, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
- Smasongarrison, that template is only ExCon-protected, and thus you should be able to edit it. It otherwise doesn't sound like you need this permission. Primefac (talk) 13:38, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, I wasn't clear. The core subpage of the template; Template:Occupation by nationality and century category header/outercore has just been changed. [5] Mason (talk) 13:40, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
- Not done (for the bot) mainly due to lack of indicated need. No prejudice against requesting in the future if protected-template editing becomes more of an issue. Primefac (talk) 23:48, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

I'm requesting template editor permission for some edits related to Wikipedia:WikiProject Ships. I meet all of the guidelines and have held template editor permission in the past (see Special:UserRights/RP88 and Special:PermaLink/805154993 for original grant), but previous template editor permission was dropped during a period of inactivity on my part. I am not sure if it is relevant to en.WP, but as a Commons administrator I have made hundreds of edits to the restricted templates/modules in the Commons Module and Template namespaces. —RP88 (talk) 23:45, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
