If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Milagrow requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. ♦ Tentinator ♦ 08:40, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Ayush.datta, and thank you for your contributions!

I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, Milagrow, is copied from another Wikipedia page, milagrow. It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:

  1. a link to the article you copied from
  2. the date you copied it

You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.

If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.

Thanks again for helping build the free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 05:43, 6 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Milagrow, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". A tag has been placed on Milagrow, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 16:55, 6 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Our conflict of interest policy

[edit]

Hello, Ayush.datta. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 09:16, 8 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There is no "approved" version

[edit]

Please see the notice above the edit box for every time you edit "Work submitted to Wikipedia can be edited, used, and redistributed—by anyone." You do not own the article. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 10:02, 8 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ok I don't but why have you so heavily edited it? it was neither promotional nor advetorial! and why do I have a conflict of interest?

I do not know that you have a conflict of interest, but your sole edits have been to add promotional content of and related to Milagrow and the likeliest explanation is that you have some type of interest and that meant that you should be made aware of the policy.
I have edited the article for the reasons in the edit summaries. Primarily for poor and non-reliable sourced claims. Wikipedia articles cannot be used as sources and sources that are press releases are not acceptable.
Wikipedia is here to be an encyclopedia, not to provide a free web hosting and promotional services for commercial ventures-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 10:14, 8 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The robots were covered in FT London! You can't get more reliable than that. Ayush.datta (talk) 10:25, 8 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It not only has to be a reliable source; it has to be significant coverage, preferably by multiple sources. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 14:48, 8 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
for example: this one is just a regurgitated press release and this one is just a passing 2 sentence mention is a list of "all the others that are doing the same thing". there is no significant coverage about the subject by reliable sources. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 15:32, 8 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

We've had our products reviewed here (http://tech2.in.com/reviews/tablets/milagrow-tabtop-74-review/349552) and here (http://tech2.in.com/reviews/tablets/milagrow-tabtop-74-review/349552) so we can quote these reviews on our page? and add them in sources because these are significant coverage by reliable sources

as a "we" you have a direct conflict of interest and need to stop editing the article now. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 11:55, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No, I'm a neutral person editing Milagrow. I just quoted the reviews of Milagrow while doing a quick Google search. Also, that 'we' was quoted out of context

"We've had our products" is not quoting out of context. It is what you have explicitly stated two lines above. You are not a disinterested third party.-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 11:45, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
content requires reliably published sources. The awards removed did not have such sources and will continue to be removed until such sourcing is supplied.
and as a person with a conflict of interest, you should refrain from editing the pages at all. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 10:54, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
