AfD nomination of Political violence in Spain since 1975

[edit]

I have nominated Political violence in Spain since 1975, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Political violence in Spain since 1975. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 16:00, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Options after the deletion of Political violence in Spain since 1975

[edit]

You seem to be a new user, and you haven't been greeted in the best possible way. Sorry for that.

The deletion discussion was closed as "delete" after a consensus to keep, and for reasons that were not addressed in the discussion. In my opinion that was quite irregular, and I am inclined to bring the article to a deletion review. But this only makes sense if someone (not me, unfortunately) finishes the article and provides sources. While some articles can survive unsourced for quite a while in spite of the verifiability policy, this one attributed murders to organizations; therefore the closing admin held it to a higher standard.

If you want to avoid a confrontation with User:Sandstein, you can instead accept his offer to "userfy" the article. I.e. the article will be restored as a subpage of your user page. Once you have more or less finished it (including the sourcing!), you can move it into the main space again. I don't know why Sandstein isn't explaining these things to you; I think most admins would have considered this part of their duties. Someone might challenge this because of the previous deletion discussion, but it seems clear that the deletion was "without prejudice", because lack of sources was the only reason for deletion. --Hans Adler (talk) 19:52, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
