I'm overjoyed to see someone else interested in the general subject of school articles! I don't know if you know what a Wikignome is, but the school project is in dire need of more. It seems like for the past two years, Jacona and I have been about the only gnomes around on school articles.

Additionally, there are numerous high school articles that still need to be created. One great thing about making New school articles is that they are virtually immune from deletion. Now, I'm not suggesting you crank out hundreds of crap articles, but you can make a decent stub, and sometimes even a start level article with just three repeatable sources: NCES, for attendance and demographics, the school's website for the mundane stuff like principal and address, and sometimes even history, and the state athletic sanctioning body for athletic info. There are "List of" articles for high schools in every state. You are encouraged to find them, and start turning red links blue.

Your enthusiasm is appreciated. Have fun, build an encyclopedia with us, and keep up the good work. John from Idegon (talk) 06:17, 3 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks John. I'll see what I can do. Have to say I'm more of a quality over quantity person myself however. EyeTripleE (talk) 17:09, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to see that I am not the only one that has concerns over school articles. I have written quite a few (mostly Texas) and share your feelings. I just hate to see good hard work redirected by those who don't understand what we are trying to accomplish. John is a very good editor and has helped me to better understand the process on creating school articles. Indyjrg1762 (talk) 01:54, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Making assessment easier

[edit]

Hey hi howdy. Got a suggestion for you. There is a nifty gadget that automates assessment. User:Kephir/gadgets/rater. It makes a tedious job much easier.

I'm working through unassessed articles right now. As you assess articles, please remember that schools should also be watched by either the state project, or the state task force from Wikiproject United States when there isn't a state project. Again, the little gadget makes adding a project simple too. John from Idegon (talk) 03:57, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Very nifty, thanks for the pointer. EyeTripleE (talk) 05:16, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Illini Prairie Conference, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Unity High School. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello

[edit]

Thanks for introducing yourself, I look forward to working on many articles. My final project is fixing all of Bagle_(computer worm) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) issues. Currently I am looking for scholarly articles about it as source material. Henrywissmiller (talk) 19:48, 8 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Yingying Zhang Govt Ex 100E cropped.pdf requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file that is not an image, sound file or video clip (e.g. a PDF file) that has no encyclopedic use.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
