Initial comments

[edit]

"SG sucks." posted by Special:Contributions/65.49.152.201 after I removed a rude comment he'd made on Talk:Sturmgrenadier -- I know! How about we put it in "Clans with Elitist Stuck-Up Assholes As Leaders"! -- as it added nothing of value to the discussion. He's entitled to his opinion (note that his edit of the main page Sturmgrenadier was not changed, pending investigation). I am uncertain of what personal conflict the user has with Spoon, but would prefer that we remain encyclopedic, rather than emotional about this issue.

What do you want? --65.49.152.201 19:36, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)

While I have a vague curiousity about your identity, I'm far more interested in learning what caused the folks who formed Sunder to depart. --Habap 19:43, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Same here. While the spirit of wikipedia is to collaboratively add information to what articles interest us, one of the tenets of wikipedia is the neutral point of view. I originally wrote that short article, and everything I said there was neutral. If you think that adding issues with SG and other clans is valid in that article, you may go ahead and add it if you wish. Though with the comment that you put on the revision about "other than pro-sg bullshit" your concept of neutral point of view is rather flawed. ChronoSphere 04:58, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Stay the f*** off my user page. --65.49.152.201 02:25, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Sorry for editing the foul language here, but I find it offensive. --Habap 13:58, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Hey there

[edit]

Thanks for editing my entry for [MAZA[1]] I am fairly new in wikipedia and can't do advanced editing. I ask for a couple of clanmates to help with the listing but you beat them to that. Thanks again

I merged a few VfD listings into just one since it's all the same related cruft. If you want to go move/revise your vote to a "delete all" so we have a clearer vote listing that would be great. Thanks! — Phil Welch 1 July 2005 21:52 (UTC)

506th

[edit]

Yes, I am interested in the 506th and just about everything else in WWII. I just did a minor fix up with Toccoa, adding other units there. I think it would be great to start some more pages for other PIRs. The 506th is today the most famous, but others deserve some more attention. Beanbatch 21:36, 11 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Making RfC for Germen

[edit]

I'm putting together an RfC for Germen's behaviour on the Islamophobia article and associated pages. Since you have been involved in disputes with this user before I was hoping you might be able to contribute to the draft before I publish it on WP:RFC. Axon 12:21, 18 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

RfA for Germen

[edit]

Please be aware that, in light of the RfC against Germen, I have raised an request for arbitration for him. Axon (talk|contribs) 10:12, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support in the RfA. I have considered responding to Germen's various counter-accusations against myself but I feel my evidence stands by itself regardless. However, your reasoned and temperate defense of myself was gratefully received and make several important points. Thanks once again. Axon (talk|contribs) 15:15, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sure you intentions are good but I would recommend you refrain from "rising to the bait," so to speak, by responding to Germen's remarks and turning the RfA into a back-and-forth debate. Your remarks are civil and in order but an RfA is not really a discussion, it is a presentation of the basic positions from all sides. Axon (talk|contribs) 15:33, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I had noticed that in the description of RfA's, which I read before I wrote anything, since I wasn't even sure I could comment. I probably should have made my later comments over on the talk page, since my stuff was discussion and no longer a statement. I'm moving them there now. Thanks for the advice. I do hope this can get worked out. --Habap 15:46, 28 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid that the person who opened the VfD doesn't seem to have finished the process, so that it was never listed at Wikipedia:Voted for deletion. I've listed it there now, but it means that the VfD has to stay open for another week. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 16:54, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks! That explains why it never got closed! --Habap 17:08, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Noticed you signed up for the Wiki battleprojects, then I noticed that besides an interest in military history we are both online game addictionados (my poison of choice is TFC:) and in the same age cohort. Tis always nice to meet a fellow gentleman scholar and fragger:) Since I don't see any welcome to Wiki on your page (forgive me if you've already got one) and don't have any Scotch at the moment, so:

Welcome!

Hello, Habap/Archive01, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! --R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) 16:04, 12 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I find it odd to be welcomed after 700 edits since March by someone even newer then me, but nice to be welcomed nonetheless. I liked TFC until I found DoD.... :) Looking forward to collaborating. As you'll notice, a lot of my work has been on US paratroopers with a nice set of collaborators. I will point out the project to them also, as they may be intrigued. --Habap 18:41, 12 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I'd have welcomed you earlier if I'd known:) I loved DoD also...until it went over to Steam (GRRRR!) and I discovered CoD. Interesting you should mention paratroops, I just completed a mega bio of Sir Richard O'Connor who commanded British 8 corps at Market Garden. I'm also thinking of collaborating with Ansbachdragoner on a bio article for Theodore von Hippel, the brains behind the Brandenburgers.--R.D.H.
