ARBIPA sanctions reminder

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

May I know what's the point of this warning masquerading as an innocent message being posted on my talk, Kautilya3? I don't give a damn about politics and these so-called "restricted" and "hidden" sections of Wikipedia. I don't have any interest, BTW. I just edited a film article regarding its reception where I stumbled upon unknowingly and the whole "secret society of Wikipedia" got threatened? Says a lot about this site.Krish | Talk To Me 15:25, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You have received an ARBIPA alert before, which has now expired and so I gave a renewed alert.
The film you speak about is an Indian film dealing with Indian situations and politics and is very well covered under the ARBIPA sanctions. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 15:38, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Is discussing Holocaust or movies about that also under sanctions? So how is it different for a similar thing that happened in the Indian region of Kashmir? And, also FYI, my "edits" which were reverted BTW, were not even related to the film but how the reception section was written. So are we not even allowed to question bias and lack of NPOV, which is an important rule on Wikipedia? Glad these sanctions are not in real life as that film might not have been made or released. Don't worry I will not touch any political article here as it's not my cup of tea.Krish | Talk To Me 15:45, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Certain aspects of the Holocaust are indeed under sanctions, as is the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. 331dot (talk) 12:01, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The Arbitration Committee("ArbCom") places sanctions in topic areas identified as having extensive and intractable disruption that lesser remedies does not address. 331dot (talk) 12:03, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Page block

[edit]

You have been blocked from editing The Kashmir files for two months for tendentious editing. Please see [1] for more details. If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. Bishonen | tålk 11:09, 14 March 2022 (UTC).[reply]

Bishonen Thank you for blocking me to edit this page. Now I don't have to worry about my mental health. Also, I don't have time for Wikipedia like I used to have. So, it's really a blessing that I am barred from editing that page. So I am not going to appeal.Krish | Talk To Me 11:19, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Krish, I honestly think it's better for you! Trust me, you don't need that round of intensive pressure. ShahidTalk2me 11:27, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Shshshsh Trust me, my last 24 hours got wasted because of this. I mean since it's a newly released film, I searched it on Google and then came to Wikipedia and just stumbled upon the biased edits. It's not like I was editing this article before. I have no political opinions but as a normal reader, I questioned the texts and then as an editor tried to correct it. I mean my edits don't even have to do with politics but the reception of the film. It's so funny and frustrating at the same time. Anyways, this page block is a blessing in disguise.Krish | Talk To Me 11:41, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I feel your pain and you should appeal and stand for what you feel right. Dsnb07 (talk) 06:29, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
