Fair use rationale for Image:Stanfield-Worley Rock Shelter - Overview.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Stanfield-Worley Rock Shelter - Overview.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:13, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article: Old Mobile Site

[edit]

Hi Leeannedy! I just saw your excellent work on 'Old Mobile Site' and wanted to know what you thought about merging this information/article with History of Mobile, Alabama? Thanks, Вasil | talk 23:53, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm so impressed! This is a very fine article. Вasil | talk 15:05, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Copyright status of Fort Louis image on History of Mobile article

[edit]

It appears I was in error about the public domain status. I thought the illustration was far older. I concur with your assessment of Nathan H. Glick's status and will remove the illustration for the time being.

I contacted the ADAH about using their images and received the following:

In order to publish our images in any format (print, film, online, etc.), you will need to submit a permission to publish form: http://www.archives.alabama.gov/referenc/private2.pdf. Under "Images used," describe the picture and give the web address at which you found it. You can mail or fax this form to my attention. I will have it signed and will send a copy to you.

Montgomery, Alabama 36130-0100
ph: 334-353-5442 fax: 334-353-4321

It appears that getting permission from the ADAH is a rather trivial process. I was wondering what your thoughts were and if you think it would be acceptable to use images approved in this manner. Вasil | talk 14:28, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We're certainly in agreement about the scarcity of image information at the Archives. I'll request permission to use the image for both articles. As for the model, I seem to recall something similar at the Museum of Mobile. I'll do some poking around and try to find it. I'll be visiting Mobile in about a week. If I can find it, I'll take a few snaps. Вasil | talk 22:15, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We're glad you signed up with us. I've been watching your work on Old Mobile Site and I am impressed at your work. I think Basil has commented about you too. I look forward to seeing more and more of your contributions. Have you considered adding some material about Old Mobile Site to the Did You Know? page? 23:34, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:A&P Logo.gif

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:A&P Logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 04:57, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Leeannedy, I see someone tagged logo. I'll be glad to write the fair use rationale if the image is being used anywhere. Just let me know. I'll be out of town until tomorrow night late probably but I'll catch it when I return. JodyB talk 12:04, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Jody, thanks for the offer. However, it seems that the image has already been removed. It is not really a big deal. I had uploaded the image a while back to replace a broken image in an article. It now seems that the article has a similar image with proper fair use rationale. Therefore, a new upload of this image with fair use rationale is not currentlt necessary. Orphaned non-free image (Image:A&P Logo.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:A&P Logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 20:44, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

Hello. I noticed you edited without an edit summary on Indian Mound Park if you could please remember to include a concise edit summary it really helps fellow editors who watch the page figure out what changes were made at a glance, as well as makes the history page easier to negotiate. Thanks and happy editing. IvoShandor 17:30, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

-- You did a great very interesting expansion of that article. I was wondering if some parts of what you wrote should not go in the Duaphin Island article itself ? May be not ... --OC 12:19, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Chickasaw Shipyard Village Historic District, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Finngall talk 21:46, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. I kinda figured that was going to be the case, but I'm not psychic--I base such tagging on what's there, not what's going to be there. That said, I do keep all tagged articles on my watchlist until the tag is resolved one way or the other. Thanks. --Finngall talk 22:00, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I saw that you assessed Robert Ekelund as start-class. Do you have any ideas about how to get it to B-class? I thought it was pretty close already to B, although not quite a "Good Article," but as the primary contributor to this article I can't really make an unbiased judgment on the matter. Thanks! DickClarkMises 14:35, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I reassessed the article to B class earlier, I think it's a very good article and seems to very accurate based on my own knowledge (which, I have learned, isn't nearly as extensive as I had once thought as I began to research Mobile and South Alabama history in a more indepth manner). As a fellow editor with a strong interest in the history of southern Alabama, it seems to me that your existing references would cover many of the, as yet, unreferenced sections of the article. Great work! Altairisfar (talk) 00:38, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:North Alabama Birding Trail Logo.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:North Alabama Birding Trail Logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 17:30, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Priscilla Welch

[edit]

Why do you keep reversing my edit!? Priscilla Welch's name is spelled wrong on the Azalea Run page. Why do you also keep accusing me of not doing proper research? I did research for every change I made. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.165.219.4 (talk) 01:58, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You Need Help

[edit]

Stop making incorrect revisions of everyones work espcially my work on the "old mobile site" article. The picture that an aritcile is about should be on the top of the page, I shouldn't have to scroll down to see it, there are exceptions however, this is not one of em. Secondly ,but in no regards less important.... "Native American" is the term agreed by most native american nations as the prefered term and by scholars now adays not "indians" or "native indians" LOL what planet are you from? I'm part native american and I take offense to this, I'm reporting you to an administrator for review. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.148.169.67 (talk) 22:43, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

'A&A' an abbreviation?

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 17:10, 28 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
