Welcome

[edit]

I just wanted to add a personal kudos for your great research on Peter Jukes. Glad you're back! Shawn in Montreal (talk) 16:38, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Were the Afds really more civil back then? I must say this one -- and the related Afd for Motley Moose -- seem to have really brought things out of the woodwork. That said, I once followed an old, incredibly acrimonious, edit war about, believe it or not, Astroturf. Never mind the Arab Israeli conflict: this was heated. So one never knows. BTW, I signed on in 2006 about the time it seems you took a long Wikibreak and I clearly remember seeing a Moloch09 username or something similar. best, Shawn in Montreal (talk) 16:45, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm amazed at how you found some of this stuff. I thought I'd Googled pretty thoroughly. Apparently not. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 17:45, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 17:39, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Bot. I knew... but nobody's perfect.

WP:FILMS Welcome

[edit]
Welcome!

Hey, welcome to WikiProject Films! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of films, awards, festivals, filmmaking, and film characters. If you haven't already, please add {{User WikiProject Films}} to your user page.

A few features that you might find helpful:

  • Most of our important discussions about the project itself and its related articles take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.

There is a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

  • Want to jump right into editing? The style guidelines show things you should include.
  • Want to assist in some current backlogs within the project? Visit the Announcements template to see how you can help.
  • Want to know how good our articles are? Our assessment department has rated the quality of every film article in Wikipedia. Check it out!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Nehrams2020 (talk) 18:36, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rescue tag

[edit]

These are ordinary clean-up tags, and they are to be added or deleted at the editor's pleasure. Wikipedia: Article Rescue Squadron isn't a policy page or a guideline page, it's a Wikiproject. They might not like it, but ultimately their view of the tag doesn't have the consensus of the whole Wikipedia behind it.--Sloane (talk) 02:45, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WP:FILMS Coordinator Election

[edit]

As you would expect, I have steered clear of that deletion debate because of a conflict of interest. In fact, after my experience of the Motley Moose deletion debate, I've steered clear of Wikipedia generally. Though I'm sure both debates are related, I'm nevertheless grateful for the sourcing you and other editors have done on my entry (there are reviews there I didn't even know I had and works I had actually forgotten). I did actually enter my own birthdate - because I didn't think that was a conflict of interest, only informational.

I'm happy to provide a limited amount of more biographical information. You found a Sunday times article that actually mentioned my kids - I have two, Katherine and Alexander. Let me know what other bio stuff might be appropriate. I have scans of course on my other sources -, a letter about A shout in the Street from John Berger, the contribution to Gordon Brown's Britishness speech was in 1999 etc. I don't want to overburden the talk page or otherwise, so if you want to email me it's pdjukes at gmail dot com. Once again thanks for the hard work of you and others--Peterjukes (talk) 16:32, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry so late in saying welcome!

[edit]

I am really glad that you added the Article rescue squadron template to your user page. I don't know if anyone ever said welcome to the squadron, if not, WELCOME!

Please take a minute to sign your name to our list of 270+ members:

Good news, we are building our first newsletter and should sent out this weekend, keep an eye out for it!

And a warm welcome to the squadron!

Here to help articles tagged for rescue!

Hi, Moloch09, welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron! We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying and rescuing articles that have been tagged for deletion. Every day hundreds of articles are deleted, many rightfully so. But many concern notable subjects and are poorly written, ergo fixable and should not be deleted. We try to help these articles quickly improve and address the concerns of why they are proposed for deletion. This covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome! Ikip (talk) 21:27, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit to my post of Carrot and Stick

[edit]
I see that finally the other meaning that carrot and stick policy originally not intended

for reward or punishment but an inducement (never fulfilled) to achieve the objective is recorded in the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Palaparthivr (talkcontribs) 17:05, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment.
