Mirrors[edit]

Information icon Thanks for contributing to the article Susan Kihika. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. Template:Short description/doc[edit]

Hello and welcome. Regarding this recent edit of yours,[1] it seems you might have some misunderstandings about how templates work in Wikipedia.

The page you recently edited Template:Short description/doc is a documentation page to a template used to create Wikipedia:Short description in articles. The template provides the code in the necessary format (this is in the Usage section) so it can be copy/pasted to wherever it is needed. There is no need to edit the template itself or its doc page.

The way the template works: an editor can copy the code supplied in the usage section of the template page, which is {{Short description|Write your short description here}}. The editor pastes this code at the top of an article. The editor replaces "Write your short description here" with a short description and hits publish.

Hope this helps clear up any confusion.

Have a great day! --DB1729talk 13:43, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
