Removal of topically-relevant information

[edit]

Hello. Thanks for your feedback on my removal of information from The Peninsula Hotels page. However I can confirm this is due to the information no longer being accurate do a change in company policy. The sources regarding the controversy are no longer live and therefore removal felt most appropriate. I can however edit the information to accurately reflect the current situation if more appropriate. EmilyJersey (talk) 07:52, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect and untruthful information about the company

[edit]

I represent the company referred to. I deleted information which had been added by an unknown third party and was damaging to the company's reputation. Please keep this deletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HKLUL74 (talkcontribs) 10:10, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted edit

[edit]

I added controversial news about Sigma Nu which you deleted. I am unable to source it due to the accusations coming from many women. Please add back. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.170.239.66 (talk) 01:46, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dealing with vandalism

[edit]

Hello, thanks for trying to deal with vandalism. However, you have sometimes missed consecutive vandalism edits, like at Poor Richard's Almanack and, to a certain extent, Thiruvalluvar. See the procedure at Help:Reverting#Manual reverting for dealing with these manually ... but I very highly recommend Twinkle, which automates the reversion and warning of vandals. Hey I’m new to editing but why did you report me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vex sox (talkcontribs) 23:24, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to RedWarn

[edit]

Hello, TuskDeer! I'm Ed6767. I noticed you have been using Twinkle and was wondering if you'd like to beta my new tool called RedWarn, specifically designed to improve your editing experience.

RedWarn is currently in use by nearly 100 other Wikipedians, and feedback so far has been extremely positive. In fact, in a recent survey of RedWarn users, 90% of users said they would recommend RedWarn to another editor. If you're interested, please see the RedWarn tool page for more information on RedWarn's features and instructions on how to install it. Otherwise, feel free to remove this message from your talk page. If you have any further questions, please ping me or leave a message on my talk page. Your feedback is much appreciated! Unintentional edit on religious persecution

[edit]

I came to tell you I am glad you caught that edit by me, because it was clearly a mistake. I can't explain what happened--I honestly don't know. It's possible I got interrupted moving it, or any number of things, but it was unintentional on my part. I don't remember doing it, and I don't disagree with most of the claims it makes, in fact, I would say there is a lot more that could be said, so there is no reason why I would have intentionally removed it. At any rate, I am glad you caught it and put it back. Thank you. Jenhawk777 (talk) 03:46, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of electronic music festivals, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Cartagena, New York and Thornville (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:21, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

False positive?

[edit]

Thanks for helping out with CVU stuff but I think you made mistake here by tagging the edit as vandalism when it was, in fact, more than likely a good faith editor trying to add info but not knowing about the policies of sources and that facebook and amazon searches can't be used as such. Remember, whenever in doubt, assume good faith. Regards, Field Marshal (talk) 19:33, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Great job doing counter-vandalism! Thanoscar21talk, contribs 22:36, 17 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I see you are relatively new here, only starting editing in June. I looked at your contributions and see that you are going to be a real asset to the encyclopedia. I was impressed by your appropriate tagging of pages and suitable notifications to users making problematic edits. Keep it up! Cwmhiraeth (talk) 08:45, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Cwmhiraeth: Thank you! I'm trying to help as much as I can. You've done some great work too! It takes a lot of time and effort to make articles, which is why I mostly do vandalism. I really respect anyone who does that. TuskDeer (talk) 20:35, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Just curious, have you checked out the WP:CVUA? It's really useful, they teach a lot of counter-vandalism stuff. If you register in it, then that usually paves the way for rollback or pending changes reviewer. Thanks, Thanoscar21talk, contribs 01:20, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Thanoscar21: No I have not! I will definitely check it out. Thanks! TuskDeer (talk) 01:45, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please look at the references section (scroll down) and look at all the red cite errors you created with your recent clean up. You can't use the {{sfn}} template enclosed inside of ref tags, it doesn't render the ref properly, and you also can't use the short-cite templates when they don't properly link to a full citation, known as the target. See Help:Shortened footnotes for guidance on how to use short-cite templates. For example, look at this article, NBR 224 and 420 Classes, which uses the sfn template properly, click on any of the refs in the notes section and they go to the full citation in the references section. If you want to convert the refs in Scots language to short-cite templates, you should self-revert your recent edits, create a bibliography or sources section with full citations first, then use the short-cite templates so they will properly link to the full citation. Thanks. Isaidnoway (talk) 11:51, 27 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Isaidnoway: Yikes, I totally didn't see that! I'll change it so they link to the full citations since those sources are already cited. As I'm sure you can tell, I've never done short citations before. Thank you so much for pointing it out! TuskDeer (talk) 15:53, 27 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also, your change from

<ref>[dictionary.oed.com OED online], Scots, a. (n.)</ref>

to

<ref><ref>{{cite web|url=dictionary.oed.com|website=OED online|title=Scots, a. (n.)}}</ref>

results in an invalid URL error, putting the page in category:Pages with URL errors. Unfortunately, the reference is behind a paywall, or at least a registration wall, so I didn't get the real URL. —Anomalocaris (talk) 23:14, 27 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

{{ping|Isaidnoway}} Again, thank you! I decided that using {{r}} would be easier, so I changed all the {{sfn}}s to that. I also fixed the URL you mentioned, so the article is, at the very least, not obviously broken anymore. TuskDeer (talk) 01:06, 28 July 2020 (UTC); edited 01:40, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for taking care of all of these reference issues! But I'm Anomalocaris, not Isaidnoway. Cheers! —Anomalocaris (talk) 01:18, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Anomalocaris: My bad again! Cheers to you too! TuskDeer (talk) 01:40, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New list arrived, every feedback is appreciated. Uziel302 (talk) 18:40, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Musk deer are not famous for their Tusks

[edit]
The Down-To-Earth Trophy
It is the award only the most humble and legendary Wikipedian's ever get!

Your profile is so full of life comrade! I wonder though, why are the tusks of the Musk deer mentioned, and not its musk? Those are the interesting parts :D.

Was here to basically thank you for removing a friend's adverts on some article. Great patrol work there! I really hope Wikipedia stays far far away from made up truth and adverts and stuff like that. Elon Musk should really make an interplanetary quantum internet to make Wikipedia available to future martians. Hey thats another interesting sort of "musk" XD

kk have a great day! bye for now. Subham Burnwal (talk) 15:23, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
