Welcome to the LGBT Studies WikiProject!

Hi, Vanished User jdksfajlasd/Archive 2011 , welcome to WikiProject LGBT Studies!

We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and intersex people. LGBT Studies covers people, culture, history, and related subjects concerning sexual identity and gender identity - this covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated! Some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve articles, so if someone seeks help, please try to assist if you are able. Likewise feel free to ask for help, advice or clarification.
  • Many important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign LGBT topics.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, peer review and a project-wide article collaboration, all of which you are welcome to take part in. We also have a unique program to improve our lower quality articles, Jumpaclass, so please consider signing up there.
  • If you're going to stay awhile, please create a square in our project quilt! You can put anything you want in it.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome!

Rucka rucka ali edits

You removed some edits that i made to Rucka Rucka Ali's page. I am guessing that this is due to some of the language used in the titles of the songs. i did not name the songs, however, they are real songs and you are free to look all of them up on iTunes. I personally work with Mr Ali and was adding information by his instructions. please re-instate my edits so we can have an accurate wiki page for Mr Ali. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Firehurtsrealbad (talkcontribs) 20:33, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Your AN/V report

Could you elaborate on your report at WP:AN/V please? Recent edits by the reported IP appeared to be resolving redlinks. Thank you. -- Tom N (tcncv) talk/contrib 02:25, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Please disregard, i just reviewed it and their is no vandlasim this was done in error, -- Staffwaterboy Critique Me 02:31, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

No problem. I was just taking another look and earlier edits were questionable, but that might have been a different user on the same IP - possibly a university IP. Thanks for your work. -- Tom N (tcncv) talk/contrib 02:35, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi staffwaterboy

My latest post of the new asus line of pc is the current version that is available in the shops. since wiki is the most up to date encyclopedia covering all areas i feel that a post on such a trendy new inovation by asus would not be out of place. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ayorfolorunso (talkcontribs) 16:33, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Altered speedy deletion rationale: Asus NX90JQ-A1

Hello Staffwaterboy. I am just letting you know that I deleted Asus NX90JQ-A1, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you. Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 17:05, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion converted to PROD: Visible Bra Straps

Hello Staffwaterboy. I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Visible Bra Straps to a proposed deletion tag, because I do not believe CSD applies to the page in question - A7 does not apply to films. Rollback of Golden Team entry

Hi there, sorry to bother you, but I am a bit concerned about the current state of the Golden Team entry. I made several edits to the original article to remove what I thought to be verbosity and peacock phrasing. I have received Talk entries from a user called GrandMariner stating that my edits were vandalism, and that they intended to revert all of my edits. A user has now logged in and reverted my changes back to the original verbosity - these in turn were rolled back by yourself :)

I really don't want this to turn into some edit-rollback-edit-rollback war - can you please advise how this could be resolved? Thanks!

I just rolled it back because the lack of edit summary now i understand why it was done thats all.Staffwaterboy Critique Me 14:56, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Your RFA

Hi Staffwaterboy. Would you consider opting in to X!'s Edit Counter so that RfA participants can get a better idea of your areas of focus? Thanks, 28bytes (talk) 06:44, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

If you do intend to become an admin someday I would recommend two things:
  • Become a stable editor. At least a few of the opposes were based specifically on your "on again, off again" editing pattern. While everyone has other things to do in life besides Wikipedia, it does help instill confidence to see that you're making a commitment with the intent to be around here when someone needs you as an administrator.
  • Seek others' advice when about to do something you're unsure of. I don't mean you should be asking for help with every little thing, or else no one will trust you with admin tools anyway, but you should be able to tell the difference between situations you're ready to handle and those you're not, and be willing to learn how to handle situations that are new to you. I'm more concerned with the sloppy spelling and grammar than that activity levels. Your user page says you're attending college, Staffwaterboy; are you a native English speaker? If so, surely you could try a little harder to read over your sentences before saving them ... /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 03:36, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Good advice from Soap. The two largest concerns were grammar/capitalization and activity level. Just become active for a few months before going through another RfA. There goes the stability concerns. Just put forth more effort to be grammatically correct in your typing. Simply capitalizing your "I"s would help a great deal because it's the most obvious error you make. All in all, you should be heartened that most of the opposes were over simple issues and for the most part didn't express concern in your overall competence. Just work on the main concerns raised by the opposers and I have no doubt you'll become an admin. Swarm X 06:32, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for the advice I will take that it consideration when making my edits here on Wikipedia. It seems that usually I find myself rushing to type a sentence and fail to overlook any spelling or grammatical errors made on my part.

Staffwaterboy Critique Me 22:15, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

You don't fail to overlook errors, you do overlook them. To overlook means to ignore, disregard, fail to notice, etc. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 03:28, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

A7 speedy deletion denied

Hi Staffwaterboy. Thank you for your work on patrolling pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I just wanted to inform you that I declined to delete James Blackmon, Sr., a page that you tagged for speedy deletion because of the following concern: the criterion you used does not cover this kind of page or the reason you specified is not a valid reason for speedy deletion. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion and especially what is considered non-criteria. In future you should rather tag such pages for proposed deletion or start an appropriate deletion discussion. feydey (talk) 09:11, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

csd rationale

I declined the speedy of Mark T. Maybury; while the article need a lot of work, chief scientist of the USAF is a credible assertion of importance in my view.--SPhilbrickT 22:18, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
