WikiProject GLAM/Philadelphia Museum of Art will serve as the hub for all Wikipedia community events, content work, and community collaboration on articles related to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and related topics. If you are interested in helping please leave your username in the participants section. If you have any questions feel free to post them on the talk page.

Scope

This project aims to coordinate the sharing of resources between the Philadelphia Museum of Art (PMA) and the Wikimedia community. PMA's mission as a museum aligns closely with Wikipedia’s goal to provide "free access to the sum of all human knowledge."

Saturday 2 March 2019, 11 am - 5 pm Art+Feminism Edit-a-thon @ Philadelphia Museum of Art Library This year's edit-a-thon will focus on Latina and Latinx artists. Raquel Salas Rivera, the Poet Laureate of Philadelphia, will be present to help with translation.

Goals

  • to train staff and others how they can add material to Wikipedia according to our rules and without violating Conflict of Interest guidelines
  • to write articles on PMA related topics; identify some key objects with good sources available
  • to get more images of things in the collections that aren't paintings onto Commons
  • to create all the proper user boxes, project tags, etc. in order to keep track of project statistics.
  • to tag and assess PMA related articles by placing {{WikiProject Philadelphia Museum of Art}} on their Talk pages
