Euphytica
[edit]
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was delete. There is a consensus that Euphytica should not be mentioned at the target article. signed, Rosguill talk 20:08, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
- Euphytica → Springer Science+Business Media (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Essentially goes against WP:REDLINK to a target so impossibly vast no specific information about that journal will ever be there. See also similar discussion in the past here and here and here. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 21:47, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Comment You've really dug for something of mine to delete haven't you.
- Euphytica is unusual. It dates from 1952 and is one of Springer's oldest. Certainly this is one of the most Template:R with possibilities and may be appropriate for Springer Science+Business Media#Selected publications. Invasive Spices (talk) 22:50, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Delete as there is not even mention of this at the current target. A7V2 (talk) 05:25, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- If there is a reliable source, I can add mention to the target. Springer's own history from 1945-1992 does not mention this journal, nor does the history of any other years. Springer has a page on Euphytica though. Some sources I found (this and this) appear auto generated. Jay 💬 10:56, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
- Note that this has nothing to do with the merits and is in stead a continuation of a protracted Special:History/Agriculture in California personal harassment problem. Invasive Spices (talk) 21:41, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
- Those must be autogenerated. A secondary source which is not autogenerated showing high regard for the journal: doi:10.1007/BF02854999. Invasive Spices (talk) 21:37, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
- That's an argument for Euphytica having it's own article, not being a redirect to Springer. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 22:43, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
- Right. Any source that corroborates

No longer an upcoming film. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 18:51, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. (@Eejit43: Seems you stumbled on one of many more "upcoming" redirects I was going to nominate in the future, but might as well get this one knocked out.) Steel1943 (talk) 19:02, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Delete per above: previous RfD discussions have indicated that these sorts of redirects should be deleted. InterstellarGamer12321 (talk | contribs) 19:05, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Delete, and what about Garuda (2017 film), Garuda (2018 film) and Garuda (2020 film)? It's no longer a 2017, 2018 or 2020 film either. Unless it really is a 2017 film and not a 2022 film. – wbm1058 (talk) 23:57, 3 March 2023 (UTC)

- Hypnozoite → Plasmodium (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Not mentioned at target; should probably be retargeted to an appropriate anchor at Apicomplexan life cycle as with the other terms mentioned there. 1234qwer1234qwer4 18:23, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- It is mentioned at the target. Nonetheless agree. Retarget per 1234qwer1234qwer4. It's an Apicomplexan life stage, not a specifically Plasmodium stage. Invasive Spices (talk) 22:58, 3 March 2023 (UTC)

Ram Nagar
[edit]
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was retarget to Ramnagar as an unopposed retarget proposal. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 06:59, 10 March 2023 (UTC)
See the dab page at Ramnagar. Is this place in Barabanki with a population of 12,416 really a proper WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for "Ram Nagar"? I notice a reference to "Ram Nagar" in the article on Krishna Nagar, Delhi, but that's pretty clearly a reference to a different place. — BarrelProof (talk) 03:13, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Unless someone has a better idea, I suggest to retarget Ram Nagar to Ramnagar (which is a dab page). — BarrelProof (talk) 15:53, 3 March 2023 (UTC)

Apparently a song by this artist, but with no mention at the target it could easily be mistaken as offensive/abusive to the subject. An anonymous username, not my real name 02:48, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Retarget to Noah Cyrus discography#Singles where mentioned. 59.149.117.119 (talk) 03:55, 3 March 2023 (UTC)

- Retarget to Noah Cyrus discography per above. QuicoleJR (talk) 02:22, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- Retarget to Noah Cyrus discography. If a discography article exists it makes more sense as the destination than the artist themselves. I also tagged these with {{r from song}}. Hey man im josh (talk) 04:40, 4 March 2023 (UTC)

Lame man's terms
[edit]
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was retarget to Plain English. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 06:49, 10 March 2023 (UTC)
Deletion would probably be the best option for this strange and unambiguously unhelpful eggcorn. Wiktionary does have a small entry for it, but the number of searches is probably far too small to justify soft redirecting there. An anonymous username, not my real name 01:42, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Comment seems to be a misspelling of "layman's terms" ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 02:53, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- I'm well aware of the etymology, but I don't see how a redirect is needed in this case. Anyone searching it is presumably trying to define the term, not learn about the concept of plain English. The fact that it's an eggcorn on top of that really makes me question its necessity. An anonymous username, not my real name 03:25, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Retarget to Plain english as {{R avoided double redirect}}. Seems like a plausible term that could redirect to layman's terms since they sound similar. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 02:56, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
- Retarget to Plain English
