Kachia (Adara: Akhwee) is a town in the southern part of Kaduna State, North West Nigeria.

Kachia is a town in the Kachia Local Government Area, which was home to 253,000 people in 2006.

Ginger has by far become a major economic crop of Kachia Local Government Area due to the high yield of the root crop in the land. Other agro-products include corn, sorghum, millet and soybeans.

Kachia town is also one of the largest towns in southern Kaduna state where various small and medium scale businesses contribute to the economy of the state and country at large.

Roads to Kaduna from Abuja and Kano are good. From Abuja the journey takes 2½ hours by car.

By train

Kaduna is an important junction on Nigeria's Cape gauge railway network. At Kaduna, a branch line connects the Lagos–Nguru Railway to the Port HarcourtMaiduguri Railway via Kafanchan.

Kaduna is also on the route of the planned Lagos–Kano Standard Gauge Railway, which has been completed between the national capital of Abuja and Kaduna. Trains for Abuja depart from the Rigasa Railway Station in Kaduna.
