Requests for global rollback permissions
Global rollback for OJJ
- Global user: OJJ (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
- Not ending before 23 December 2016 13:35 UTC
I'm rollbacker on cswiki and skwiki and I sometimes reverting vandalism on enwiki and others; rollback is quicker than revert and a saving work. OJJ (talk) 13:35, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
Support This user helps with fighting with vandalism at various project and rollback can save a few of seconds. Examples [1], [2], [3], [4]. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 13:57, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
Oppose. Not enough cross-wiki activity. I suggest that you can join to SWMT, to help in reverts of vandalism in many wikis, especially in small-wiki work. Constant activity on many wikis in reverts is required for GR flag. Thanks for helping. --Ks-M9 [disc.] 15:23, 18 December 2016 (UTC).
- @Ks-M9: I do not know, it was not just one of the options? Otherwise, I do not need globall rollback :) but I just thought that the saving work. :) --OJJ (talk) 15:51, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
- GR flag is used for reverting vandalism across many projects, this tool would be granted if an user must be demonstrably active in cross-wiki countervandalism or anti-spam activities and make heavy use of revert on many wikis, not only for "saving a work", I see that is an insufficient reason to justify the grant of global rollback. Please, re-apply if you are active in reverts in many wikis. --Ks-M9 [disc.] 17:26, 18 December 2016 (UTC).
- @Ks-M9: I do not know, it was not just one of the options? Otherwise, I do not need globall rollback :) but I just thought that the saving work. :) --OJJ (talk) 15:51, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
- If you want rollback rights on enwiki, please requests them on enwiki. Global rollback is for users who use rollback extensively on many wikis, e. g. as part of their work in the SWMT as outlined above by Ks-M9, not to circumvent certain local flag granting procedures. Kind regards, --Vogone (talk) 17:57, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
- Note OJJ was denied enwiki rollback access ~2 months ago, but is welcome to reapply when they meet the guidelines. — xaosflux Talk 21:02, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
Oppose Not enough experience reverting across language barriers yet. – Ajraddatz (talk) 21:27, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
@Ajraddatz, Vogone, and Ks-M9: Rollback is not necessary. I've got a special gadget :). OJJ (talk) 11:54, 20 December 2016 (UTC)

Requests for global sysop permissions
Global sysop for Shriheeran
- Global user: Shriheeran (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
- Not ending before 2 January 2017 09:29 UTC
Hi! I am from Srilanka and I would like to be a global sysop and want to serve globally--Shriheeran (talk) 09:31, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
No. Complete lack of recent activity not active on many wikis and I don't see an experience by yourself as sysop on a project. Little cross-wiki experience. --Ks-M9 [disc.] 13:17, 19 December 2016 (UTC).
- Oppose. Blocked on hawiki for abusing multiple accounts. --Steinsplitter (talk) 13:18, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
- I can see that you are quite young and you seem to still be growing. If you would like to attain these rights, I'd recommend you join the SWMT team and join the irc channel, #cvn-swm, to revert vandalism wiki-wide. These rights are for those that are in need of it. You don't seem to be showing any kind of need for the global sysop rights. Take the advice given by the users above (and me) in a good way and get active in the fight against vandalism (wiki-wide). --Atcovi (Talk - Contribs) 18:45, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
Oppose Per above comments. Alvaro Molina (Let's Talk) 02:00, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Shriheeran, thanks for volunteering and helping :-). I think that this request won't pass, so I'd recommend to withdraw it for now. You are more than welcome to re-apply for GS once you are more active reverting vandalism/spam and tagging pages for deletion cross-wiki. If you have some doubt about something, please feel free to ask. Matiia (talk) 04:22, 21 December 2016 (UTC)

Oppose limited cross wiki experience--Biplab Anand (Talk) 11:50, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
Oppose - per this. I have earlier reported this user to Holder and Matiia for disruptive editing at yo:wiki. The indef block at ha:wiki, the disruptive editing at yo:wiki and the request here is a clear indication that this user is WP:NOTHERE. I'll appreciate if any GS can block this user at yo:wiki to prevent further action there. Thank you. Wikicology (talk) 14:02, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
- Just out of curiosity, "WP:NOTHERE" means what? --Vogone (talk) 12:55, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
- Is a term used on enwiki, mentioned here refers that the user (Shriheeran) is "cleary not here (on Yoruba Wikipedia) to contribute"; I suppose. I do not see that these term is used here on Meta. --Ks-M9 [disc.] 20:05, 30 December 2016 (UTC).
- Just out of curiosity, "WP:NOTHERE" means what? --Vogone (talk) 12:55, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, Ks-M9 is correct. I recognized that it's not a Meta-community term but most experienced users who edit at en:wiki are familiar with it. Wikicology (talk) 21:55, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
Not done. Early closure because the request isn't succeeding based on the agreement between stewards that early closures of steward requests are acceptable when there's no gain for the candidate in keeping obviously-unsuccessful discussions running. —MarcoAurelio 15:36, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
Requests for global IP block exemption
Global IP block exempt for 逆襲的天邪鬼
- Global user: 逆襲的天邪鬼 (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
I edit pages on zhwiki, enwiki, meta and sometimes on other wikis. I live in mainland China and the en:Great Firewall sometimes blocks SSL connections so I have trouble in accessing without a proxy server. Thanks, --逆襲的天邪鬼 (talk) 05:01, 25 December 2016 (UTC)
Global IP block exempt for Tigerzeng
- Global user: Tigerzeng (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
I am a newpage patroller on Chinese Wikipedia(zhwiki). Due to the Great Firewall, I need to use public proxy to edit pages on wikipedia and wikidata. Recently, I'm troubled by a global ip block. I've already been granted a local ip-block exemption on zhwiki. Thanks!--Tigerzeng (talk) 07:56, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
Requests for global rename permissions
Global rename for Pablothepenguin
- Wiki: meta.wikimedia.org (list 'crats • bot policy • summary • 'crats rights)
- User: Pablothepenguin (talk • edits • logs • UserRights • activity • CentralAuth • email • verify 2FA)
- Not ending before 3 December 2016 19:52 UTC
I am looking to apply myself more in Wikimedia dealings. Just because my reputation is poor doesn't mean I can't lend a hand and rename accounts for whatever declaratory reasons. Maybe the object here is not for me to achieve much but maybe I'm just missing the point. All in all, I feel I can handle the pressure, and thusly I shall request renaming herein. Pablothepenguin (talk) 19:52, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
Oppose You are blocked on enwiki indefinitely. Therefore you can't move pages there, which is one of the requirements for global renamers (they move user pages from the older username to the new one). This is also your first edit to meta at all. Sorry, but I don't see this happening. --Majora (talk) 21:33, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. User as no experience in rename-related areas, low cross-wiki experience and this is the first edit by this user. You can read the global rename policy and work in areas of rename users, a permission of global-renamer can rename users, and is very different to move pages. Additionally, the block situation on enwiki does not convince me to support and trust this request. --Ks-M9 [disc.] 22:49, 19 November 2016 (UTC).
Oppose Sorry to jump on the bandwagon, but the block on enwiki is a dead giveaway. Global rename isn't a tool you can just use like chewing gum; it is an advanced right that can cause some serious server damage if misused. Also, you have not demonstrated having any experience with the renaming process or with general username policies. I very much doubt telling people to get lost will impress people who are evaluating you for a position that requires competency and a high level of trust. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 23:02, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
Oppose "Just because my reputation is poor"... that should tell you how this request would go. --Rschen7754 05:22, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
Oppose Global renamers a high level of trust with the community, the global renamer tool is quite responsive and in inexperienced hands can cause serious problems with subsequent processes of name changes. It should be noted that the user also does not possess advanced permissions that can endorse such trust and that block in enwiki unfortunately has a great influence on this request. Alvaro Molina (Let's Talk) 06:41, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
Oppose and recommend Pablothepenguin to withdraw the request. Being indefblocked on a project and having no demonstrable experience in the user rename process are not good. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 09:49, 20 November 2016 (UTC)

Oppose I'm sorry to jump on the bandwagon, but unfortunately I don't see much under your belt that convinces me you're ready to be a global renamer. The biggest problem I can see is your lack of involvement with the global rename process, which speaks for itself; global rename is not a "trophy" and it is not something given to all users. You need to demonstrate an actual need for the tool, which you currently do not. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 18:31, 24 December 2016 (UTC)

I've been working on deploying a new, more efficient parser for abuse filters, and it would be helpful if I could see all of the filters on WMF wikis, and edit them in order to remove some deprecated syntax. vvvt 20:30, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
