Requests for global rollback permissions

Global rollback for WAN233

Hello.I have a certain amount of work in Chinese Wikipedia and Classical Chinese Wikipedia, and Classical Chinese Wikipedia is a small wiki.I often check the recent changes in the page when I have time and I now often use Twinkle to roll back the damage.Having a global fallback can crack down more quickly and easily. I hope to get this permission to work better.Thanks.--WAN233 (talk) 05:53, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

Global IP block exempt for nroister

Hello, The IP address 54.153.224.155 (aka. gateway.devop5.io). This is my (own) company's vpn server, accessible only to its employees (10-15). It is attached to an AWS Elastic IP (ie. relatively permanent). It would be greatly appreciated if this could be added to the exempt list. Regards, Nigel --Nroister (talk) 08:50, 17 May 2017 (UTC)

I can only add IP exemption to your account but not to the IP address. Ruslik (talk) 12:59, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

Global IP block exempt for WAN233

I live in the People's Republic of China. As the People's Republic of China can not normally visit Wikipedia.(Because of en:Great Firewall) So I often use tools such as VPN,en:Lantern (software)or Tor. And I have work in Chinese Wikipedia and Classical Chinese Wikipedia. I hope my request is approved, thanks --WAN233 (talk) 05:48, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

Given your little cross-wiki involvement my advice is to try to solution this via local IP block exemptions. If they're global IP blocks that affect you, please contact us with the exact details of the error message so we can review your request. Thanks for your understanding. Requests for global rename permissions

Global rename for Tarawa1943

Not ending before 5 June 2017 20:28 UTC

Hi Wikimedians. I'm sorry to realise I forgot to write a statement. I hope now is not so late to do it. I'm a "bibliotecario" on es wiki, and most of my work is local. However I am become acquainted about our global rename policy. Since some weeks ago, members of eswiki can request for a rename in a local page. [1] That's new. I remarked too that some spanish-speakers renamers lost their permissions and I saw this discussion [2]. Then, I consider I have enough experience to deal with users requesting renames in eswiki local page. Thank you for (re)considering my application.

  • Support Support Very trusted sysop and 'crat on eswiki. Very actif, this user can be an excellent GR dealing with request in spanish, Jmvkrecords (Intra talk) 20:38, 22 May 2017 (UTC).
  • I don't see any work on rename-related areas, he is only most active on eswiki, is sysop and bureaucrat as well, but I don't see work in other wikis about renames, (for example, SRUC, or WP:CHUS on enwiki) or work on the local requests for rename on eswiki. Neutral for now. Apparently also this user didn't specified a reason for this request. --Ks-M9 [disc.] 02:29, 23 May 2017 (UTC).
Note: Striked the last part. I don't oppose him, but I'm neutral at this moment. --Ks-M9 [disc.] 23:55, 31 May 2017 (UTC).
  • Oppose OpposeNeutral Neutral The global renamer permission requires cross-wiki work to be done in order for the rest of the users to know the user in question, the global rename tool is quite delicate and requires a lot of trust; In this case except the work that he does in Spanish Wikipedia like bureaucrat and administrator, and his contributions in Commons; I do not see much more. Neither has provided a reason, so I feel that the user still does not know the procedures that must be followed to be able to aspire to this permission. I urge the user to continue with his good work and in the future request again.Alvaro Molina ( - ) 16:33, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

Global rename for Murbaut

Hi friends. I would to request Global Rename. I'm member of the SMWT and understand of all for indonesian dialect language, I know what the name is promote or not . I want to help renaming a username, one of them id:Wikipedia:Pengubahan_nama_pengguna/Permohonan. I was read the procedur or policy of the Global Rename. I know before User:Aldnonymous has global rename right, but now is inactive. I have a IRC mynick "Murbaut". Thanks you for read myrequest :) Murbaut (talk) 02:04, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

No consensus. There's no consensus to promote Murbaut at this time given the concerns raised. If this was a mathematical vote, 14/7/2 gives 66% which is below of the (extremelly excesive IMHO) 80% of support that Global_renamers#Membership mandates. Sorry, —MarcoAurelio 11:03, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for all who support me, and for those opposed, I apologize that I didn't intend to collect a hat, but I just want to help. Assume your good intentions. And thanks to marco who has closed my request, maybe I am not the right person to receive this right. Murbaut (talk) 13:39, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

Global rename for Framawiki

Not ending before 10 June 2017 08:03 UTC

Hi ! I would to request Global Rename. As OTRS agent and active patroller on frwiki, I often ask users to change their username to take a different name from a known person. I also often see newcomers asking on the french Teahouse how they can change their username. I would like to help in this task. I read the global rename policy. Thanks :) --Framawiki (talk) 08:03, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

  •  Weak supportSupport Support The fact be OTRS agent demonstrates be a trusted user. but I would like to see more cross-wiki activity and to be involved more in our projects. Independent of all that, I have no doubt that take place a good job as a global renamer.Alvaro Molina ( - ) 06:50, 28 May 2017 (UTC)

Global rename for Music1201

Not ending before 24 June 2017 17:17 UTC

Hello, I am Music1201. I am an active contributor on the English Wikipedia (I also have made minor contributions to Wikidata and Simple English Wikipedia). I am also an active OTRS volunteer. I am requesting Global rename rights to assist with requests made both here and on English Wikipedia. I am very familiar with the Global rename policy. Music1201 talk 17:17, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

  • Oppose Oppose No for now. --Steinsplitter (talk) 07:23, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
  • Support Support. I see nothing that indicates to me that this user couldn't be trusted with the global renamer tool. There's cross-wiki experience present, and while modest, it's at least enough to know that Music1201 can successfully interact with wikis other than their home wiki. Ks0stm (TCGE) 00:04, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
  • Oppose Oppose Too little crosswiki experience. --Holder (talk) 08:52, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
  • Neutral, because I don't see any work on rename-related areas and experience on any wiki about renames. For example, on enwiki you aren't very active on requests for renames, as your last activity was in october of 2016; or here in meta, your last activity was on june of 2016. If you wish to be a global renamer, simply you most be active on these areas, and I should reconsider in the future. I don't think why this user needs cross-wiki experience, only needs to be active in rename areas, that is one of the reasons why I'm not opposing him. --Ks-M9 [disc.] 12:39, 14 June 2017 (UTC).
  • Comment Comment A lot of people seem to support or oppose based on cross-wiki experience. I know this should be a discussion for elsewhere, but I personally feel that cross-wiki experience has nothing (or at least, very little) to do with global renaming. Global renames, for the most part, happen automatically; there is no need for the renamer to manually go to every single wiki and mash a button repeatedly to rename a user. The biggest thing we ought to look at is 1) Is the user trusted to have the global rename tool?; and 2) Are they familiar with the global rename field? That being said, while Music1201 appears to meet the first point, I don't see much about the second. Remember that I had little cross-wiki experience when I became global renamer two years ago, but I attained trust and experience through patiently clerking w:en:WP:CHUS (And honestly, I was doing it for fun; it would never have crossed my mind back then that soon I would be the one doing the renames). I encourage Music1201 to gain some experience in this area by clerking the request pages, since that's one of the best ways you can demonstrate that you understand the process and the policies. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 13:14, 14 June 2017 (UTC)
