Administrator access

CustodieMinori@ro.wikibooks

As there is no active Bureaucrat for Romanian Wikimanuals, I kindly ask you to help me to become administrator in http://ro.wikibooks.org/. I raised this request several weeks ago here: http://ro.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikimanuale:Cafenea#A.C8.99_dori_s.C4.83_contactez_un_administrator but seems that all previous administrators are not active anymore. Big thanks. CustodieMinori 07:21, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Done for three months till 3 May 2012. Ruslik 12:47, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Maksat@ky.wikipedia.org

Hello my friends. I ask you to extend me adminship on ky.wikipedia.org. Even though there hasn't been much traffic lately, this is going to change soon, when I have more time. Thank You. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Maksat (talk)

But you have never been an administrator on this wiki? Ruslik 12:53, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
Declined after a week. He seems just to be copy-pasting Zylbath@ndswikt request above, without paying attention if what it says actually correlates with facts. es:Magister Mathematicae 16:09, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
I also reverted this malformed bureaucrat request, which is obviously declined. PeterSymonds (talk) 19:43, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

خَرگوش@ks.wikipedia

Request for extension of admin rights. Unfortunately there is still no community at ks.wikipedia other than myself. I will be happy to face an election as soon as community exists. Until then I would be prefer to maintain admin privilege for basic site maintenance purpose. Thank you Sirs. --خَرگوش 22:12, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Please provide a link in a prominent place (like Village Pump) on kswiki asking for an extension. --FiliP ██ 08:43, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
Not done since there is no update of progress. Please open another request when you come back. Bencmq 14:44, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Simbu123@as.wikipedia.org

As the Assamese Wikipedia is growing with an infusion of new editors, increased activity and expanding scope, we require more personnel with administrative access to meet the needs of an expanding community and Wikipedia. The community has held a vote to give as:user:Simbu123 administrator access. The voting began on February 05, 2012 and concluded on February 12, 2012 with 12 YES and 0 NO votes. I request that as:user:Simbu123 be given administrator access. Thanks. Chaipau 01:43, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Done, and since the community size is sufficiently large, this is a permanent appointment. PeterSymonds (talk) 01:54, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Igriks@vep.wikipedia

Hello. This Wiki opened some days ago, but it has no administrators. I think stewards, who read it, can give admin flag for user Igriks. He speaks Vepsian as native, and he has knowledge of Wikimedia rules. Thank you--Tamara Ustinova 15:11, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Please have the user to post a request for adminship in vep:Vikipedii:Kund. We will review the consensus after a week and if so promote the user. Thanks for your understanding. Best regards. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 16:30, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

තඹරු විජේසේකර@siwikipedia

Community vote had been completed by 04:21, 22 February 2012 as the vote was closed by user:බිඟුවා who is the administrator proposed the candidate. The result had been declared by user:බිඟුවා as 7/6/0. Yet there are concerns by other users and administrators. [1] and [2]. In the second reference, which is the candidate's user page the administrator who proposed the candidate and closed the vote suggests that the vote tally should be 6/4/0. In the first reference, another administrator suggests that the tally should be 5/4/0. The dispute is about accounts of certain voters which had been made minutes before they have voted and/or certain voters who have had minimal interaction with the Wikipedia and abstained from Wikipedia for a long time and appeared just for voting. The administrator user:බිඟුවා had provided the option to the candidate to forward the result to Meta. Neither the candidate nor the administrator user:බිඟුවා had done this up to this moment and the issue is in a stalemate position. Considering the above, your ruling and decision is sought please. ---ශ්වෙත (talk) 06:24, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

I was just creating the req & got conflict with your edit. Thank you ශ්වෙත you have done it. -- බිඟුවා සාකච්ඡාව 06:41, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
Hello. I suppose that there is no local requirement for voting to these elections. You should probably set up some rules to prevent such things to happend. However, I've tried to find out what's wrong with votes, and those that come from accounts that have just been created won't be counted. Here is the result of my investigation :
  • The following contributors have supported, and there is no doubt they come from the community : බිඟුවා, Budhajeewa, උපුල්, අනංගයා
  • Same for the following opponents : සමන්, ශ්වෙත, Singhalawap, Cwijayakoon
  • සෝරෝ has only six contributions, even if his account was created on July 2010
  • Sashen, පද්මා හතරසිංහ, Tailung81 and සරත් have been created the day they voted
Accounts were created to vote, but on both sides. Anyway, if we don't count them we are at 4/4 and if we count all votes we are at 7/6. Both ways there is clearly no consensus to give this user sysop access right now. Sorry, -- Quentinv57 (talk) 09:06, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for helping us. ---ශ්වෙත (talk) 09:14, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

The Icelandic Wikipedia has an inactivity policy for it´s admins and bureaucrats. Admins and bureaucrats who have not made any edits for one year are notified on their talk pages. If they don´t respond within one month or don´t express any interest in keeping their rights, they will lose them.

All of the users mentioned above where notified on their talk pages at 16th January 2012. StalfurPDA is an known alternative account of is:user:Stalfur, so I notified Stalfur instead. Stalfur is the only user that responded and he agreed with removing StalfurPDA´s rights. Not a real discussion, but it's what I feel of the community consensus. The user can't be trusted with sysop (and therefore crat) status as he used it to prevent good faith usage of the wiki without consensus according to his own interpretation of the wiki scope. There isn't a discussion process to add or remove flags (nor any "process" actually) on testwiki, so the best way seems to deflag and then rediscuss the assignation of flag as a local request if he feels like it. --Nemo 14:21, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Temporary permissions (expired and rejected requests only)

Zylbath@nds.wiktionary

Zylbath was elected as an admin by a local vote but the project does not have any bureaucrats of its own. Please promote Zylbath to admin status. Thanks ::Slomox:: >< 08:04, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Done, to expire 3.2.2012 Matanya 08:06, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. But why the expiration date? --::Slomox:: >< 20:58, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
Unless a project has a lot of active users and has admins and bureaucrats we tend to give adminship for various periods (1 month, 3 months, 6 and so on. With communities with active users we would give perm. Hope that helps and feel free to ask any questions. fr33kman 21:02, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for the clarification. Never heard about that rule before. I guess, I'll have to check in again in six months then. --::Slomox:: >< 07:24, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
removed. Matanya 06:01, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
@Matanya, why did you remove his admin bit while he's awaiting an extension of his adminship here? Trijnstel 15:59, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
Because the permission has expired, obviously, Trijnstel. I do not see anything wrong here... —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 16:36, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
It may not be strange, but imo he could've waited and extended the adminship in a few days. But maybe I'm wrong here. Trijnstel 16:43, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

خَرگوش@ks.wikipedia

I would like to request administrator privilege on Kashmiri Wikipedia. Unfortunately there is not community, however proposal was posted October 24 and no opposition since such day, having passed almost 2 weeks by now. --خَرگوش 06:37, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

Done For three months until 7 February 2012. Ruslik 07:38, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
removed. Matanya 07:22, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Ciphers@ar.wikinews

I had the admin access three months ago, and it expired recently. Please renew my temporary access, or grant me a permanent access. Thanks in advance. Ciphers 07:20, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Please, post a local notice. Ruslik 16:16, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
There is already one in admin nomination page since May 2011, but it received no votes. --Ciphers 00:08, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Miscellaneous requests

User J C D@de.wikibooks

The user is actually working on an own wikibook since 5 days (has already 123 edits on de.wikibooks) and has requested the confirmed right (on the page of a local bureaucrat) for being able to move his book pages this week-end. I don't see any reason that he shouldn't do that. He registered on wikibooks 30 January 2012 (I don't know why I can't find this in the newusers log, but today, I don't find my own registration log there either), but normally on de.wikibooks someone needs 7 days before becoming autoconfirmed. He has autoreview and editor rights on de.wikipedia (never been blocked). I've read on de.wiki that confirmed rights can only be granted by stewards, but not by local bureaucrats, so I'd like to know if this is done on this page. Geitost diskusjon 14:58, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

Done --Vituzzu 15:00, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
Oh thanks, that was very fast. :-) --Geitost diskusjon 15:05, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
You're welcome, I'll remove the flag within some days when J C D will get confirmed automatically. --Vituzzu 17:05, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
Ok, that makes sense. --Geitost diskusjon 18:26, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

Users Koui²@fr.wikipedia and TED@fr.wikipedia

Both Koui² (talkeditslogsUserRightsactivityCentralAuthemailverify 2FA) and TED (talkeditslogsUserRightsactivityCentralAuthemailverify 2FA) seem to have lost their auto-patrolled status on fr.wikipedia. This could be related to a recent block that happened this morning. Can you fix this ? Udufruduhu 13:05, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Apparently, everything's fine now. Must have been some kind of transient effect of the blocking. You can archive the request. Udufruduhu 13:15, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
Closed Closed then. —Marco Aurelio (Nihil Prius Fide) 13:53, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Juandev@cs.wikiversity

Upon the community consensus (4 agree ("souhlas, souhlasím"), 1 disagree ("nesouhlasím")) I would like to ask for importer's rights on cs.wv. I would like to help with importing pages from wikies, for which transwiki import is not enabled. Juandev (talk) 08:17, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Hello. How long do you need them ? It would probably be better to grant transwiki import rights and to ask at Bugzilla for the import sources to be changed. -- Quentinv57 (talk) 08:38, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
Well, until problems are resolved, which could take quite a long time (especially when importing from non WMF projects) So transwiki import is not a solution. --Juandev (talk) 09:02, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
Done Please let us know when it's done. Regards, -- Quentinv57 (talk) 09:16, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
OH, yes.--Juandev (talk) 09:33, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
I was asked to review this, and after reading the objections, I've decided to remove it. Furthermore two/four of the support comments were from new accounts, so there is no apparent consensus. PeterSymonds (talk) 09:10, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
Thank you Peter. -- Quentinv57 (talk) 10:24, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
