Administrator access

Omshivaprakash@kn.wikipedia

Hi, I'm Omshivaprakash from Kannada wiki community. We have lack of admins and bureaucrats on Kannada Wiki projects. I have self nominated and the community also supports me to be the active sysop due to my technical and policy level support I extend along with regular editing. I here by request Stewards to grant me the permission. Thanks in advance. Omshivaprakash (talk) 02:55, 15 April 2015 (UTC)

Bureaucrat access

Khangul@ps.wikipedia

Hello; I am Khangul, one of the administrators at Pashto wikipedia. I have been an active editor since 2009. Contributed over 10000 edits locally in Pashto wikipedia and over 300 in other wikis. Pashto wikipedia is in need of a second Bureaucrat and I am nominating my self for this post. I consider myself as a disciplined wiki editor and admin. I have always guided other editors when they were in need of learning editing process or any other kind of edits. Now I am requesting for further rights on Pashto wikipedia in order to be able to promote and further develop Pashto wikipedia. I am committed for the betterment and improvement of Pashto wikipedia. And thus am applying to become one of the Bureaucrats.--Khangul (talk) 05:51, 12 April 2015 (UTC),

New Discussion: [1]

Terminating discussion. Rights proposals and discussions for a wiki are not undertaken at meta, and should be done at the wiki; the nominee is currently blocked at the wiki; that a discussion gets support indicates that there is a level of campaign about the nomination, and there is a proposal at Stewards' noticeboard about the administration on this wiki.  — billinghurst sDrewth 03:17, 15 April 2015 (UTC)

tsca@pl.wikiquote

Please add tsca@pl.wikiquote to the bureaucrat group, as per the local community vote. The local bureaucrat is inactive. Thank you, tsca (talk) 15:04, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

I do not think that six votes is enough for bureaucrat. The community is too small for bureaucrats. Ruslik (talk) 19:27, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
Can be locally handled by existing bureaucrat, stewards unwilling to appoint based on low response level and community size.  — billinghurst sDrewth 03:33, 15 April 2015 (UTC)

User Ibrahim@tg.wikipedia

Hello, I have been the only administrator of Tajik Wikipedia for the past of several years. Several local administrator access requests remained unanswered and I would like to request bureaucrat access to respond to administrator access requests locally to some active users. Ibrahimjon (talk) 06:31, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

Comment Comment Please do not refuse this request. It is very important for the local project (tg.wiki). I and other members have repeatedly faced with the problem of obtaining the status of the bot and administrator. He is the only administrator who a few years continuously monitors the project so as not to break the rules. Optional: to improve the quality of the project, please add statuses - autoeditor, closer, editor, rollbacker. Thanking you in advance--AryanSogd 08:50, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

I put this onhold for a week till 25 April 2015, but it is unlikely that this bureaucrat access request will be granted – the community is too small. If the project needs more administrators, you can make requests here after a community discussion. If you want to create local usergroups like autoeditor, closer, editor or rollbacker you should apply at https://phabricator.wikimedia.org after reaching a consensus during community discussion. Ruslik (talk) 17:46, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
  • For information apply to a different status thanks. On account of the status of a bureaucrat, we really need. We had a bureaucrat, but unfortunately his two years there was on the project and its removed this status. He was an Englishman and did not know our language. User Ibrahimjon (talk) continuously monitors for several years. In order to develop our society, we need a bureaucrat whose Tajik language is native. Who is familiar with the shortcomings of our project and we have a lot of, because we do not have the necessary tools to solve problems. Most users do not speak English, they will contact you to obtain the status? I communicate with you to use Google translator from Russian into English. If the stewards refused, they just demoralize project tg.wiki. Finally, many active and competent users go forever, because there is no chance of getting the necessary tools for work. Thank you--AryanSogd 18:54, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
Your English is good; if TgWiki has a successful local admin discuss, you can be the designated person to post it here. The project is too small for local bureaucrats at this time. -- Avi (talk) 16:26, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
  • It's useless. Here, discussion at the local wiki. Here, general mockery, as if I have ask medal. To us need tools to facilitate the work. Supposing Ibrahimjon (talk) to get bureaucrat status, we do not have every time contact you (not comfortable). For us the status of a tool for work, not a reward for military valor. Thank you.--AryanSogd 06:20, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

P.S. By volume our Wikipedia not inferior our to friends, however:

  1. fy.wiki – 3 bureaucrat.
  2. ba.wiki –2 bureaucrat
  3. ga.wiki - 3 bureaucrat
  4. an.wiki –2 bureaucrat
  5. cw.wiki –3 bureaucrat

For comparison: such a large Wikipedia as Russian has only 5 bureaucrats and Macedonian Wikipedia which in 15 once less, has - 4 bureaucrats. What does it mean? Explain please. Thank you AryanSogd

Many of bureaucrats on small wikis were appointed long time ago when our attitude to bureaucrat promotion was lax as compared to the modern standards. Ruslik (talk) 08:35, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
  • What kind of standards conversation? You forgot the main commandment Wikipeda: If your actions go to the favor of Wikipedia, that ignore all the rules. In my opinion there are violated all standards. What should have been sdelat for a maximum of 7 days, lasts two weeks. Humanly requested to expedite the process, being that no more voting. This is not the first time when such an attitude. Through inaction, you forced me to manually rename articles, and articles with incorrect titles, remain in the project as garbage. Such names more 10 000. Renaming subject more 25 000 pages. I'm not talking about that must be corrected in articles more 1 000 000 spelling and grammatical errors. I believe that in each local Wikipedia there should be a bureaucrat whose native language is local. In tg.wiki let it be Ibrahimjon (talk). I Support Support. Thank you--AryanSogd 12:29, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Not done. Your wiki has just 61 active users and 2 administrators. To add more administrators and bots, please locally announce it and ask us stewards to add flags. Thanks.--Jusjih (talk) 01:22, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Note: The first two users' support vote is lower than but near 25, though there're clear support for these two users' oversight flags, and local RfA policy says one user will be passed if there're at least 25 valid support/oppose votes. Stewards should judge whether these two users are elected. Another 2 local RfOS will be ended at 07:07 UTC and 02:13 UTC tomorrow, whose support votes are both no less than 25.--GZWDer (talk) 05:37, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
This request cannot be granted until a second local oversighter can be appointed. Unfortunately, the local policy can only be more stringent - not less - than the global policy. I would like to grant all three requests as the community clearly trusts the users in question, but the policy requirement must be met. Please leave the first two open for a while longer and solicit opinions if acceptable so that they meet the standard. Ajraddatz (talk) 06:25, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
There are additional candidates still running for Oversight rights on their local wiki. We should have a second local oversighter that meet these requirements in the next few days, even if the first two are still trying to sort out this technicality. - Mailer Diablo (talk) 09:03, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

@Trijnstel and Mentifisto: In the very beginning we're not aware of the global rule: 25 support at least, and just set the requirement as local RFA. After Ajraddatz's remind, their polls re-opened locally, but there's no further discussion how much time the extended period lasts, now they're assigned OS as soon as they get 25 support, just like golden_goal, someone has questioned this result now.--Kegns 05:38, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

Please remind people to not overthink it... they are just check boxes on some site on the internet. I don't think that there should be any bureaucratic reaction to this; it is common practice to allow these requests to carry on for a little longer than necessary to get the requisite support. It should also be noted that the minimum vote requirement does not remove the % support requirement either; there still must be clear consensus to appoint users to CU/OS roles. If anything, have a discussion on what to do next time now that you know the policy :) Ajraddatz (talk) 05:44, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

Removal of access

All bureaucrats@zh.wiktionary

After asking on 2015-03-05 the other bureaucrats, Shizhao [5] and Wjcd [6], with no answer and no emails readily possible, I started a local vote on whether to remove all bureaucrats on 2015-03-22 with no objection so far. In the same day he also deleted a lot of his user subpages, for each specifying the same reason in edit summary Excluding those actions on own userpages in 2014, his last edit was on 7 November 2013, and previous edit was on 28 August 2013. Those was his only 2 edits in 2013!

You can remove his admin flag now, or you can wait one more week, when, according to ro.wikipedia local sysop policy his admin rights expires by inactivity.

It says literally that administrators and bureaucrats loses their spacial permissions in case of inactivity more than 1 year.

The withdrawal request in case of permissions expiry may be submitted by anyone on Requests for permissions (this page). As justification, request must contain a link to the policy page. ([8]).

Effeietsanders@nl.wikipedia

According to the local rules on the Dutch Wikipedia, the adminship of every administrator is evaluated each year. In the last round of these confirmations, they need to attain a level of support of at least 75%. Effeietsanders didn't achieve this level of support, so his admin and bureaucrat permissions should be removed. Thanks, Mathonius (talk) 22:35, 15 April 2015 (UTC)

Domas Mituzas@dewiki

The user user:midom was sysadmin for wmf and therefore in the global group "sysadmin". Due to a user name conflict for the account midom@dewiki he created a second account Domas Mituzas and granted the account the sysop user group on dewiki to do sysadmin work on dewiki. Since yesterday the local user account midom@dewiki is renamed and midom@global can now use his global account also on dewiki to do sysadmin task (but he is no longer in the global sysadmin group). Please remove the sysop flag from midom's second account Domas Mituzas. Done. Bureaucrat rights removed, sysop, import and transwiki kept; although I'm a bit curious as to why Shizhao holds those rights. They were self-added via meta with no reason provided... -- MarcoAurelio 09:44, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
I think it's rather worrisome to remove a bureaucrat after a request which just lasted one week and where nobody except the proposer participated. --MF-W 09:53, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
What do you propose? We grant rights to users with no votes at all that also run for a week. User was notified by mail and the vote looks visible. No reply on both. And the project's activity is very low, so not much participation can be expected... I'm willing to reverse if you feel this is a mistake. -- MarcoAurelio 10:05, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
I don't think it needs to be reverted, but still I feel this request is not so correct... maybe it should have been left open for a longer time, though of course we have no policies about it. I was just thinking about e.g. cases where a user might actually be the only active user on a wiki, but leaves for vacation or so, and then returns to see his sysop rights were removed by a vote of 1 person. --MF-W 14:06, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
