Romaine has been re-elected as a administrator (Dutch: moderator) on Dutch Wikinews. Can you please grant him admin rights again for a new period? Generally a term of one year is granted. When one views his service as an administrator on so many projects, I think it is very fair to make an exception for him to grant him these rights for an indefinite term. This is actually what the project rules of Dutch Wikinews prescribe. However it hasn't been granted yet to anyone. There is no risk at all for Romaine (6 votes in favour with a total of six votes - and again re-elected). He is an acclaimed user and administrator yet for a long time and on many projects. Is it really not possible to have a permanent adminship? We had those for a while with other admins, the problem is that even if there are active users they don't often go to the community portal (the Tzilleri) and don't follow this kind of things. I could try to contact them one by one on their talk pages and do a new election, but I don't know if that would be ok. For now I only did it with two users I know, but one of them responded to me on the 24, right after the election was over. The other one was Dk1919 Franking, that after voting decided to also add his candidature as well. Sorry, that was a mistake I made while opening the election. I start this project in the Wikimedia Incubator in September 2011, then I have temporary admin flag from June 2013 (when the new wiki was opened) to December 2013 and from February 2014 to August 2015. I'm already interface administrator on vec.wikipedia and I've already worked on CSS/JS when I had the admin flag on vec.wikt. If it's not possible to have a permanent interface adminship I request, at least, a temporary one, 'cause we have some work to do (like adapting en.wikt's translations style). @Leaderboard:WMF requires all new IAs appointed from Nov 18 onwards to have 2FA activated before they are allowed access. So the route will be to ask for oauth tester at SRGP and then activate the 2FA, subsequently when they have the flag they can relinquish the global tester group. Agreed, we should not be sending users in circles trying to meet the 2FA requirement. Once the user has intadmin access he can enable 2FA. Two other thoughts: since we cannot check if 2FA is enabled, it should be up to WMF security to audit 2FA use rather than us. We can tell people to enable 2FA, but we cannot enforce it without the ability to check. Also, if you are going to tell people to enable 2FA before granting the rights (with which I disagree), at least add them to the appropriate global group so they can. Sending them to make a second request on a different page when you could take 2 seconds to add the right to their account is very poor customer service, IMO. – Ajraddatz (talk) 21:19, 24 February 2019 (UTC)

@Vogone and Jasper Deng: The referred policy says "Inactivity is defined as less than five administrator/bureaucrat actions or property creations over this six month period.". The next phrase, "Admin accounts are checked for inactivity on the first day of each month.", although talks about checks, does not make it very clear that inactivity is only considered until the 1st day of the current month. As of today, d:User:Cyberpower678/ActiveStats lists Putnik as inactive. I have reversed the removal, but I think would be reasonable to propose that, in order to avoid future misunderstandings, the first phrase be changed to "Inactivity is defined as less than five administrator/bureaucrat actions or property creations over the six month period until the first day of the current month." @AKA MBG: Due to some old code in the AbuseFilter extension and recent maintenance being done on it, it resulted that AbuseFilter accounts got all sysop status (cfr. phab:T212268). According to a senior developer those can be removed so I'm just doing it. There's however nothing to worry about them given that those accounts cannot edit nor anybody can log in to them.
