🚀 Exciting news from PROVIZ! 🌟 We're thrilled to announce that PROVIZ team at NTNU has secured new funding milestones. With support from Centre for Digital Life Norway Innovation Roadmap project and NTNU Discovery, we're accelerating our journey from research excellence to real-world impact in cancer diagnosis. Our partnership with Digital Life Norway’s Innovation Roadmap includes a 1.5M NOK pilot project to pave the way for regulatory and commercialization advancements. Additionally, we've been honored with the NTNU Discovery main project award, receiving 1 million NOK to boost technical and product development. Stay tuned as we continue to innovate with AI-based software for more precise prostate cancer diagnosis via MRI. Together with our dedicated team and invaluable partners, we're pushing towards commercialization and making strides in medical technology. 📣 We are so proud of our industry internship! This program gives PhD students experience outside of academia, and they tell us that it is transformative for both their future careers and research. This is our fifth round, and we will be placing six PhD students in biotech companies in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. 🗺 🙏 The companies opening their doors (thank you!) are Testa Center, Authera, AstraZeneca, AKVA group, BioInnovation Institute (BII) and Vectron Biosolutions AS. 👩🔬 During the internship period of three months the candidates will join in the daily activities and work routines of the companies. 👨🔬 They are given a defined project that is relevant for their development as PhD students and for the company. 👩🔬 The companies gain a highly motivated and skilled worker, a potential recruitment, as well as contact with academia. 🎉 This really helps extend career development beyond academia! Biotechnology research and innovation need to integrate ethics, social considerations and sustainability. But how? Here are some takeaway points from an event at NMBU - Norwegian University of Life Sciences with Norges forskningsråd, published in Forskningspolitikk by Olga Mikhailova and Bernt Aarset! In the picture you can see two of the speakers, Olga Mikhailova and Cecilie Anita Mathiesen 👩🔬 Biotechnology is often seen as providing game-changing solutions to some of the world’s greatest challenges. 👨🔬 Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) serves as a framework to guide researchers and decision-makers in integrating ethics, social considerations, and sustainability into research and innovation processes. 👨🔬 👩🔬 Fundamentally, researchers are encouraged to inform society and facilitate open dialogues to address both ethical and practical challenges. 🎺 Conclusions: 📣 To operationalize RRI, collaboration and proactive reflection are key. 📯 We should share our experiences and learn from each other.
