Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (English: The Brave Hearted Will Take the Bride) is a 1995 Bollywood movie directed by Aditya Chopra and produced by Yash Chopra. It had Shahrukh Khan and Kajol in the title roles. Anupam Kher, Amrish Puri, and Farida Jalal played supporting roles. The music was composed by Jatin Lalit while lyrics were by Anand Bakshi. It was released on Diwali 1995 and became a blockbuster. In addition, the movie has been showing at the Maratha Mandir theatre in Mumbai for 25 years making the longest time the movie has been screened. A movie called Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, directed by Shashank Khaitan, and produced by Karan Johar, was based on this film and released in 2014.

Sypnopsis

Raj and Simran meet on a trip to Daytona Beach. After some initial misadventures, they fall in love. The battle begins to win over two traditional families.

Reception

The movie became the biggest hit of that year and the second highest grossing of the 1990s.[1] The movie became the second one to be listed on the list of "1001 must see movies before you die".[2]
