Kadena Air Base
Kadena Air Base (嘉手納飛行場, Kadena Hikōjō) (IATA: DNA, ICAO: RODN) is a United States Air Force base in Japan.[1]
The military base is in the towns of Kadena and Chatan and the city of Okinawa in Okinawa Prefecture.
History
[change | change source]During the invasion of Okinawa in 1945, the airport was bombed by the US. The damage was repaired and it became a US air base.[2]
The American air base on this Japanese island is controversial.[1]
