From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sophia in Geneva, 2018.

Sophia is a human-like robot. Sophia was developed by Hong Kong-based company Hanson Robotics. The robot has been designed to learn and adapt to human behavior and work with humans. Sopia has also been interviewed around the world. In October 2017, Sophia became a citizen of Saudi Arabia. In 2024, Sophia delivered the first University commencement speech at D'Youville University. This means Sophia is the first robot to receive citizenship of a country.[1] The robot is designed to look like British actress Audrey Hepburn (1929–1993).[2]
