Hey, Glaisher, can you give an URL or something for where those River's Edge articles were copied from? --Auntof6 (talk) 06:09, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[1] per [2] --Glaisher [talk] 06:16, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I see that Chenzw has deleted the articles. --Auntof6 (talk) 06:45, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Recent article you tagged for QD

[change source]

Hi Glaisher. You tagged an article, Wikicrap, for quick deletion recently. The page is complete vandalism and not a test page, as it only contains the word 'pedo', short form for 'pedophile'. Jianhui67 (talk) 10:15, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

School IP templates

[change source]

Glaisher, how do I find the school name for connected IP addresses? It would be handy for me to place these templates on user talk pages the next time I revert vandalism (if the IP is to a school). --~ curtaintoad ~~ talk ~ 09:32, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Do a WHOIS lookup. :) --Glaisher [talk] 09:47, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I know the template "Template:Whois", but how do I find the name of a school? Or do I have to do a whois search to do it? --~ curtaintoad ~~ talk ~ 09:59, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's not what I meant. Look up WHOIS information thru a search. --Glaisher [talk] 10:04, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've found the whois.com.au site -- thank you for telling me. I just searched up an IP address and it came up with the name. I'll find this useful. :) --~ curtaintoad ~~ talk ~ 10:16, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your revert on Doris Singleton

[change source]

I'm curious why you did this revert. Do you have an objection to including a person's cause of death in infoboxes? --Auntof6 (talk) 05:50, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I see similar reverts you did on other articles as well. --Auntof6 (talk) 05:52, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No objections. I have added it again; Special:Diff/4766684 & Special:Diff/4766685. --Glaisher [talk] 06:01, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[change source]

Hi Glaisher, I want to rewrite an article you have put a semi-protection on. I think the creator was not detail correct due the lack of notable references. I would like to write the article, so you can approve. Cmacmore1987 (talk)

The protection reason says to use the article's talk page for edit requests. However, do not try to recreate the same article with the same content once it has been deleted. The RfD is scheduled to be closed today. --Glaisher [talk] 04:59, 2 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Talk pages with inappropriate content

[change source]

Now that you're an admin, if you wanted to, you could delete pages like Talk:Sailor instead of putting the talk header on them. I personally prefer deleting them, but it's your choice. I just thought I'd mention it. --Auntof6 (talk) 10:10, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbullies

[change source]

Hi Glaisher, don't be afraid to take strong action on cyberbullying. We have a strong set of guidelines, see Wikipedia:Cyberbullying, which allows you to block fairly quickly - I usually give one warning, then a quick short block. It seems to work fairly effectively, as the amount of bullying has dropped markedly since we introduced it. --Peterdownunder (talk) 13:13, 11 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Peterdownunder: I have just blocked the /27 range for 24 hours to prevent further abuse. Thanks for OSing the revision. Also thanks for the note. I will keep this in mind. Regards, --Glaisher [talk] 13:20, 11 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Would like to know why the page was deleted, as when the page was first created, there were several simplifications and what was it deleted in the first place? Had concerns about the deletion.--220.255.2.101 (talk)--05:04, 15 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Geology timeline template RfD

[change source]

Thanks for closing that RfD. Are you planning to go back and delete the templates' subpages, as well, or would you like help with that? At least one had a sandbox page, and some may have had doc pages. Let me know. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 04:50, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted now. Thanks for the note; I forgot about the subpages. --Glaisher [talk] 05:00, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, thanks for taking care of it. The ones I forget are the talk pages, even when it pops up and tells you there's a talk page! --Auntof6 (talk) 05:07, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Aren't we supposed to give users (even IP users) a progression of warnings before blocking them? I've noticed a time or two when you started with the final warning text and give only that before blocking. --Auntof6 (talk) 18:03, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Auntof6: Yes, sure. We are supposed to warn users before blocking but sometimes I do start with 4im warnings. This is in cases where user was active in vandalism for sometime and didn't look like it would stop/where no one noticed it or where the vandalism was serious (eg. extremely offensive BLP violations or cyberbullying). As for the case of User:74.114.172.111, I misclicked on the wrong level of warning and didn't notice it until later. And since there was a time gap between creations, it was just a preventative block. Regards, --Glaisher [talk] 11:11, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you deleted it

Why did you deleted New R. S. J. Public School ???--Prathamprakash29 (talk) 13:15, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Per this wiki's quick deletion criteria A3. It was directly copied from the main English Wikipedia with no change or simplification. --Glaisher [talk] 15:14, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I saw your block of that IP address. I hope you don't mind that I added it here. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:45, 7 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure

[change source]

Thought I don't need patroller rights but what do you mean by "not enough experience [...] " You can't justify anyone with number of edits and remember always to drop a short note on the users talk page of whom you changed the group rights. We (on en.Wiki) always try to drop a short note when we change there rights. Prior messages are also appreciated. I know you have Global sysop flag. But try not to use it every where (small wikias are much preferred). And again never try to remove rights (If given to a new user) untill the user is using the rights with bad faith or vandalise. Also using summaries like " not enough experience [...]" this are not preferred. Regards, Jim Cartar (talk) 05:06, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

P.S The user right was not granted because I have created two articles. But because I'm patrolling new pages. Thanks. Jim Cartar (talk) 06:31, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Jim Cartar: Sorry if I've been a bit harsh but patroller right is not required to be able to fix new pages. If you take a look at WP:Patrollers, you'll find that it is generally for users that make a lot of new pages that do not require patrolling. While I trust that you won't add inappropriate material here, you haven't created lots of pages here that do not require patrolling yet. Also see the history of WP:RFP/P to get an idea of when it is granted. If you do meet this requirement in the future, I or another admin will be happy to grant it. I do not know why you mentioned my GS flag but this wiki is not a GS wiki and global sysops are not even technically able to add/remove rights from a user. Sincerely, Glaisher [talk] 08:23, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, Thanks for the clarification and I don't need that right since most of my edits are to revert vandalism (I'm a member of SWMT and I guess you are also) So, no problem. Anyway, happy editing. Jim Cartar (talk) 09:41, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Rollback

[change source]

I am a rollbacker on the English Wikipedia and have experience fighting vandalism. (Verify my userrights on the English Wikipedia.) I also added this to Wikipedia:Requests_for_permissions/Rollback --AkifumiiTalk 02:20, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Akifumii: You can use Twinkle for now. I'd like to take this opportunity to remind you that the proper way is to start contributing first and request for the user right if there is a need for it. Regards, --Glaisher 11:51, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Glaisher: I have now been on the Simple English Wikipedia for a few weeks now and have come across a lot of vandalism. I have experience fighting vandalism on the English Wikipedia as I have the rollback and reviewer flag. Thank you for your consideration. --AkifumiiTalk 01:43, 4 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there. It's been a few weeks and I have requested rollback at the request for permissions section. A2 15:36, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
How many more reverts would you like to see? I don't know if I "need" rollback rights as I am growing out of hat collecting and believe that Twinkle should be fine for now... I am not super active here anymore... A2 01:02, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New Editor tries to correct Vandalism of Article Linux

[change source]

Ok, so new to this Wiki Stuff. Try to correct an obvious (IMHO) vandalism of the article 'Linux', but the auto robot flags the 'correction' as possible spam. Hmm? Not deterred I look as to the Criteria and the process to correct Vandalism. Nothing found so far. report the Auto Robot error in the appropriate field(s). Will look if the system changes my status or if the Vandalism has been cleaned up by others in a few days. Are there specific timelines in the community etc, on promotion over basic user? thanks in advance -R. Richard416282 (talk) 06:41, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As the deletion reason states, there was no useful content in that page when it was deleted. It was created by a vandal . --Glaisher (talk) 11:58, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I made an article, I thought was accurate but it got taken as vandalism, I felt bad so I even tried to undo it.

However people are now launching attacks on my IP address and threatening me, I need help!

Can I have my talk protected indef? It was vandalized like 17 times or so. Do not wish it start happening again, see below + more. Have a certain theory about it too, by the way. --Hafspajen (talk) 19:56, 29 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) We don't protect talk pages, because IP users might need to leave a legitimate message there. I have semi-protected your user page. Let Glaisher or me know if you need anything else. --Auntof6 (talk) 21:05, 29 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[change source]

Just out of curiosity, how did you determine that this IP user was vandalizing multiple accounts? --Auntof6 (talk) 08:21, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This IP (and other IPs) is frequently used by someone who has been editing abusively across several projects. Here at simplewiki, his behavior is mostly directly copying articles from English Wikipedia and not simplifying them anymore or adding wrong information to articles. He has been warned several times on enwiki and here and been blocked repeatedly. Also globally blocked several times. Regards, --Glaisher (talk) 08:33, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I am so sorry for what I put in the last edit summary on Chocolate milk. I was getting very frustrated with something outside of Wikipedia and I kind of let it on the IP. Could you remove the edit summary please?Amanda Call Me 16:22, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It was completely uncalled for, and especially, for me to be profane toward (most likely a child editor from the kind of edits being made) Again I am so sorry. I will apologize to the IP now.Amanda Call Me 16:26, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

When you clear an entry at WP:VIP, would you please first add something about what action was taken, just so the record is in the page history? Thanks! --Auntof6 (talk) 04:29, 20 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, dear Glaisher, please delete my user page[11], and block the account indefinitely, as we don't have admins.--6AND5 (talk) 15:53, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It really depends on the user you ask. As for me, I don't do blocks like this on request and this would be out of scope for global sysops. --Glaisher (talk) 16:23, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
