Chinese Smartphone maker Xiaomi's first EV SU7 revealed: 800 km range!

Xiaomi has unveiled its debut electric vehicle, the SU7, which will be manufactured by BAIC. The electric coupe sedan, branded under Xiaomi's Mi line, offers three variants and will be delivered in a few months. CEO Lei Jun claims the sedan can outperform rivals like Tesla and Porsche. It leverages Xiaomi's consumer electronics expertise and shares its operating system with smartphones. The SU7 has two powertrain options and two battery pack choices, with driving ranges up to 800 km.

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has finally unveiled its much-anticipated debut electric vehicle, the SU7. Beijing Automotive Industry Holding (BAIC) will handle the contract manufacturing of the SU7 for Xiaomi in China. The electric coupe sedan, branded under Xiaomi's popular smartphone line Mi, will come in three variants: SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max, with deliveries slated to begin a few months from now.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun claims that the sedan can beat the acceleration speeds of rivals such as Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan.The much-anticipated EV will leverage Xiaomi’s expertise in consumer electronics and will share its operating system with the company's widely-used smartphones.

The electric sedan offers two powertrain options: a single motor and a dual motor. The single motor variant features a rear-wheel drive motor with a peak output of 295 hp and a claimed top speed of 210 kmph. The dual-motor setup, on the other hand, is exclusive to the top-spec trim, featuring an all-wheel-drive system with a combined output of 664 hp and a top speed governed at 265 kmph.
Xiaomi provides the SU7 with two battery pack choices. Entry-level trims will feature a 73.6kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery sourced from BYD, while higher-end models will come equipped with a larger 101kWh CTB (Cell to Body) battery pack supplied by CATL. This EV will be offered with driving ranges of up to 668 km for the base-spec trim and 800 km for the top-of-the-line SU7 Max variant. The company hasn’t revealed the pricing of the models yet.
