Tesla Cybertruck beats Porsche 911 in a drag race while towing another 911!
After a long, long wait, the Tesla Cybertruck's deliveries have finally commenced. The unorthodox-looking electric pickup truck is priced from $60,990 (INR 50.82 lakh) to $99,990 (INR 83.3 lakh) - which is well over 50% more than what CEO Elon Musk had claimed in 2019. Nonetheless, the Cybertruck boasts performance figures that can put even some supercars to shame!
Musk has shared a video of a drag race between the new Tesla Cybertruck and a Porsche 911 on a proper drag strip. With its electric power available from get go, the Cybertruck takes the lead at the launch itself, and then there's no looking back for the pickup. The Tesla EV continues to build a healthy lead as the green 911 plays catch up. However, there's actually a twist.

The Tesla Cybertruck is actually attached to a trailer that is carrying another Porsche 911! The 911's weight ranges anywhere from 1,455 to 1,715 kg depending on the model, and it is unclear as to which version of the Porsche supercar is being used in the video. That said, the Cybertruck has an impressive towing capacity of 4,990 kg, and a claimed 0 - 60 mph (96 kmph) time of just 2.6 seconds (with rollout subtracted)!
Tesla claims that the Cybertruck can do a quarter mile, which is essentially the ideal length of a drag race, in under 11 seconds! For reference, the entry-level Porsche 911 Carrera has a 1/4 mile time of 11.5 seconds. Other noteworthy features of the new Cybertruck include an ultra-hard stainless steel exoskeleton that reduces dents, damage and corrosion, shatter-resistant armor glass, 1,134 kg payload capacity, a claimed 547 km range, a massive 18.5-inch touchscreen, an all-glass roof and much more.
