The makers of 'Bohurupi' have released the highly anticipated first-look motion poster of Abir Chatterjee for their upcoming Pujo release, 'Bohurupi', directed by the acclaimed duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee.
Abir Chatterjee, the leading man of ‘Bohurupi’, expressed his excitement, stating, "Working with Windows feels like returning home; it's always a pleasure to collaborate with Shibu Da and Nandita Di.
'Bohurupi' presents many challenges being based on a true story. When movies draw from real-life events, there's a greater responsibility to portray the characters as accurately as possible on the big screen. I'm eagerly looking forward to 'Bohurupi' this Pujo season. This is just the first glimpse; there's much more in store. I hope the audience shows the same love they did for 'Rakhtabeej'."
The motion poster offers a tantalizing glimpse of what promises to be an unforgettable film, blending gripping storytelling with powerful performances.
‘Bohurupi’, inspired by real-life incidents, has been in the works since 2011. According to Shiboprosad Mukherjee, the planning for ‘Bohurupi’ began right after their film ‘Muktodhara’. ‘Bohurupi’ aims to capture the timeline between 1998 and 2005 and is based on a chain of events that took place around that time.
Abir starred in Shiboprosad-Nandita’s ‘Raktabeej’, released during Pujo 2023. Abir was seen essaying the role of a central intelligence officer opposite Mimi Chakraborty’s superintendent of police. After ‘Raktabeej’ last year, Abir has reunited with the director duo for this year’s Pujo release as well. ‘Bohurupi’ is slated to release during this Durga Puja. The film will be clashing at the box office with Srijit Mukherji’s Tekka. Tekka will bring back Srijit’s collaboration with Dev after Zulfiqar. The film will also star Rukmini Maitra and Swastika Mukherjee in important roles.
