A Glance at Jimin's Journey
Park Ji-min, widely known as Jimin, burst onto the music scene in 2013 as part of BTS, under Big Hit Entertainment. He has since carved a niche for himself not only as a member of the band but also as a solo artist. Jimin's solo tracks under BTS, including "Lie" (2016), "Serendipity" (2017), and "Filter" (2020), have all made waves on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart.
In 2018, Jimin co-wrote and released "Promise," his first solo digital track. His collaboration with Ha Sung-woon on "With You" for the TvN drama Our Blues soundtrack further showcased his versatility. His debut solo album, Face (2023), was a monumental success, debuting at number one in South Korea and Japan, and reaching number two in the United States. The album's second single, "Like Crazy," made history by debuting at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, a first for a Korean solo artist.

From BTS Trainee to Record-Breaking Artist
Jimin's journey with BTS began when he was the last trainee added to the group's lineup, spending just six months training before their debut on June 13, 2013, with "No More Dream" from their single 2 Cool 4 Skool. His solo songs with BTS—"Lie," "Serendipity," and "Filter"—each highlighted different facets of his artistic persona, from the dramatic and dark tones of "Lie" to the soft and sensual "Serendipity," and the Latin pop-influenced "Filter."
In addition to his solo tracks, Jimin co-wrote and co-produced "Friends," a song that found its way into the Marvel Studios film Eternals. His solo achievements are impressive, with "Serendipity" becoming the first BTS solo music video to surpass 100 million views on YouTube. "Filter" further cemented his solo success, breaking streaming records and earning accolades.
Military Service and Future Prospects
In late 2023, Jimin began his mandatory military service, completing basic training and joining an artillery unit in early 2024. Despite his military commitments, his influence in the music world remains strong.
As fans eagerly await the release of 'MUSE,' Jimin continues to captivate with his evolving artistry and undeniable charm. His upcoming mini-album promises to be another milestone in a career filled with groundbreaking achievements and heartfelt music.
