Is Arya playing a villain in 'Sarpatta Parambarai 2'?

The Tamil film 'Sarpatta Parambarai' was released in 2021 and the film became a major blockbuster. Directed by Pa Ranjith, the film is a sports drama that focussed on the 80s in North Madras when boxing as a sport was celebrated. The film starred Arya, Dushara Vijayan, Santhosh Prathap, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Pasupathy, John Vijay, Anupama Kumar among others.The director already announced that there is a sequel and the pre-production work for 'Sarpatta Parambarai 2' is said to start soon.
It is speculated that in the sequel, Arya might play a villain to add interest and essence to the story. However, it will all be clear only when the film starts it's shoot. Meanwhile, Pa Ranjith is said to complete the shooting for 'Vettuvam, the one he announced in Cannes International Festival last year before he begins the work for 'Sarpatta Parambarai'. 'Vettuvam' is a rural gangster set in prison and the last schedule shooting for the film is pending and it is said to begin after 'Thangalaan' releases.
After 45 days of 'Vettuvam' shoot, Pa Ranjith is said to work for the film 'Sarpatta Parambarai 2'. Ranjith is now expected to announce the release date of 'Thangalaan'. The film is a period action drama that is said to have been taken in the time of British rule and its about the livelihood of people that were living around the Kolar Gold Mines. It stars Vikram, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Pasupathy, and Malavika Mohanan in lead roles and the music for it is composed by GV Prakash. The makers initially announced for the film release in January, but it was delayed indefinitely and post the results of the parliament elections, the movie is expected to release any time soon.
