Mercedes Mone recently opened up about her decision to leave WWE and her relationship with the former CEO and Chairman of WWE Vince McMahon in an interview with WFAN. She spoke quite positively about Vince McMahon, despite the creative differences between them.
Here's what Mercedes Mone said in the interview:
"I had a great relationship with him. Me and Bayley took over the pandemic era, and it felt like the relationship really, really grew, that he knew he could count on us and trust us. So much so he gave us the opportunity to main event WrestleMania 37, which was one of my biggest, biggest dreams, so big, that I didn't even think that was possible at all."

Mercedes Mone also addressed her walkout from WWE Raw in May 2022. She is very much aware that the event has been highlighted across all major platforms and channels, and when asked about it, she said the following
"For so many years, everyone wants the tea on that drama. You're not going to get it unless you buy the book maybe ten years later."
However, upon further inquiry into her reasons for leaving WWE, she made a heartfelt statement about doing the right thing.
"For me, I went from a Legit Boss to a CEO because I wanted to grow. There was something in my soul that said, 'You need to grow.' I wanted to be the CEO of my own life. There was a light source that came into my heart that day. 'You have to do what's right for you. What's happening right now at this moment is not right. You have to take your life in your hands and go make it happen. Go make your heart happy. Go let them know that what they're doing right now is wrong and show them.' I did. I had to let them know that I am the right one that you messed with that day, and now here I am today, one of the highest paid women in women's wrestling history. The TBS Champion, going after the New Japan Strong Women's Championship. I get to do so much of my dreams because of that day that I walked out and trusted my heart..'"

After she departed from WWE, Mercedes Mone signed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling in early 2023. However, in March 2024, she signed with AEW. She is scheduled to face off against Stephanie Vaquer at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 30, 2024. The match is being conducted at the UBS Arena in Elmon, New York. The game is being highly anticipated by fans all over the world as Mercedes Mone will defend her AEW TBS Title against Stephanie Vaquer's NJPW Strong Women's Title.
