AEW is always looking for ways to astonish its fans. A recent rumor about Shane McMahon's current stature in the wrestling world has had fans on the edge of their seats.
The wrestling community was speculating that Shane McMahon might join the AEW. However, Tony Khan had conveyed to the Wrestling Observer that he had never interacted with Shane McMahon.
Reliable wrestling sources have also confirmed that Shane McMahon has not discussed his potential recruitment within AEW.
Sean Sapp, a reporter from Fightful Select stated that Shane’s father, Vince McMahon, told some
WWE insiders that owing to a mishap in the 2022 Royal Rumble, Shane McMahon "would never get another pop in the company again" while he was in charge.
Despite having appeared at WrestleMania last year, Shane no longer has any ties with the WWE. This also means that he does not have access to talent, legends, or similar agreements with this organization. However, this wrestler was reportedly included in WWE 2K24 under a separate arrangement.
According to Ringside News, Shane was "let go" from WWE after the 2022 Royal Rumble. He was said to be causing conflicts due to his bossy and entitled stature, including disagreements over the use of stars like Bad Bunny. This resulted in Vince McMahon removing Shane from the event, and the Rumble match was planned without him.
Shane McMahon is currently in good health, having been seen fully recovered at a baseball game. He has continued his fitness routine during recovery, focusing on his upper body while keeping his knee in a brace.
It remains uncertain whether Shane McMahon will join AEW. If Tony Khan were to bring him in, it would be a major surprise. The main question is how he would be used. However, fans are speculating that if Shane had to join the AEW, it would already have happened by now. Since he hasn’t had a contract with the WWE in recent times, it is highly unlikely of him making a comeback.
