Didn't work first time
I knew my dog had been scratching a lot so I showered him in this shampoo. 3 days later he was being clipped and the groomer found a lot of fleas in his coat. He's a large Cockapoo and has a very thick wavy coat. After he was clipped I showered him again, this time leaving the shampoo on for longer before rinsing. When he was dry I checked him over and there were still a few fleas in his fur. I don't think this shampoo is very effective in thick fur. This is the 1st time Barney has had fleas but I'd removed a tick a week previously so bought the shampoo as a precaution. I've just been and got a flea collar for him as I'm sure he still has some. One week later I find some more fleas so I put him into the shower and wash him again. Once he was wet and I put the shampoo on his coat, concentrating on the area around his tail and under his back legs where the fleas seem to gather, I rubbed it into a lather, then rinsed him off and 13 fleas were washed out. I think he's clear now and combined with a flea spray which I've used all over the house, as well as washing everything I could, I'm hoping they've gone. Fleas need to be cracked between finger nails otherwise they won't die.
