Having lost my last pair of nail clippers I decided that it was time to buy a new pair before my dog started winning competitions for "the longest nails ever". These work well enough. They certainly cut my dog's nails. But it feels harder to cut through than my previous pair. I don't know if they're more blunt, or perhaps stiffer? I also notice that the "guard" allows for a lot more of the nail to be cut off at once than my previous pair. That was fine this time, but I do wonder if it's in the right place when doing a quick maintenance cut.

We have a miniature Dachshund who really doesn't like his nails being trimmed. We use a dremel and peanut butter to keep him happy and it takes quite a long time as he has thick black nails.

I've used many varieties of claw clippers for my dog, often ones more expensive from pet shops. Often I find them to be a bit flimsy, poor build quality and made with cheap materials.

This set however, I can more than recommend. It's the only set of claw clippers I've used in this price range that seemed solid and that it didn't place unnecessary stress on me or the dog whilst using them.

Other clippers flex and feel flimsy so make it more difficult to clip the dogs claws. These have been fantastic and have allowed me to make the process as painless as possible for the dog.

The fact it also comes with a file is really nice as you can stop the trimmed claws from scratching your floors etc.

I would highly recommend this as a quality set of clippers to use.

My French bulldog pup needed his little wolverine claws cutting. I paid £50 at the vet to have this done first time around which I thought was a little bit steep considering how long my pup was in there. So I observed what the vet did took a note of the clippers and found them on here. You really can't go wrong with these as there is a little guard that prevents you from going too far and cutting the pups quick. My pup is going through toddler stage atm which means he jumps in fright at the sound of his own butt so for more nervous dogs you might want a calming chew before you attempt this. The file is a great add on as it helps shape and blunt the claws so when they jump up for a love they don't take the flesh from your arm. These are a very good product for the price, and pretty idiot proof.
