What's in the box?

  • 5 Pacifiers
  • Product description

Dentists recommend kicking the paci habit by the time baby is 12 months old. We've got the weaning process down to a science (literally!) with this 5-step system to ditch the pacifier for good. Each paci is progressively shorter - and less satisfying - so baby gives that binky the boot. No kitchen scissors required! Wash before use

I went into this thinking it wouldn't work, but it has completely worked for us! My son was so dependant on the dummy, to the point he wouldn't go to sleep or sooth without it. He's had a dummy since 2 weeks old and he just turned 2 so.. you can picture how much he loved his dummy.

We did stage 1 for 2 days and nights
Stage 2 for 1 day and night as we misplaced it
Stage 3 for 2 days and nights
Stage 4 for 2 nights, then wasn't offered it the 3rd night and went off to sleep fine
He completely rejected stage 5. Don't get me wrong he still cries out at times and the easier option would be to give him his dummy but this has weaned him off it. He is now 6 days completely dummy free! It's taken longer to get him to sleep but those who are persistent will get through it!

Well worth the money in my opinion.

After having 2nd baby we let our 2.5 year olds dummy use slip, he had it 90% of the time at home and couldn’t sleep without it. Knew we had to wean after he had a 2 hour tantrum because we didn’t have his blue dummy only his white one.

We called them his big boy dummies, and that his old ones were for baby (who funnily enough won’t accept a dummy!). He kept dummy 1 for about 2 weeks, then for a nap I gave him no 2 and he didn’t really notice it had changed. He kept that for about a week until we lost it, so had to move onto no 3. He became less and less interested and stopped asking for it. It just kept dropping out his mouth and eventually he stopped replacing it. Moved onto no 4 after another 2 weeks… that was maybe 2 months ago now. I just found his no 4 dummy in a box covered in mould - that’s how long it’s been since he asked for it!

I followed the instructions as per the box. My toddler was upset the first night because the pacifier was different from hers and she was crying bloody murder the last night when we were at the last pacifier. It was a lot easier than I thought. Definitely recommend to other parents. I have told all my mum friends about it too.

I was sceptical at first but my daughter was approaching 18 months and I wanted to get her off dummies and I wasn't keen on the 'cold turkey' method.

I followed the steps and honestly it works. Moving to stage 4 was the most challenging and by stage 5 she had lost interest. For a week or so afterwards she would occasionally ask for her dummy and we would tell her it had an ouchy and show her the stage 5 dummy which she found quite amusing!

Her nursery were really impressed and the room lead said this was the quickest and easiest she had seen a child stop using a dummy.

Overall I am really impressed and would recommend this product. If you aren't keen on trying the cold turkey method I would invest in this.

Bought these for my 2.5 year old who is struggling to come off the dodie at night. The different levels are working perfectly, now on level 4 and he now sleeps the majority of the night with no dodie! Definitely recommend as a safe way to wean an argumentative toddler.

I thought my daughter would stay attached to her dummy but by stage 3 she stopped wanting her dummy. She's now gone a full week without it.

The best idea ever to make my baby stop using dummy, it really works! I would buy it again!

Weaning off dummy: success story! 🙂 I will preface this with we are gentle parents, we respond to our sons needs day and night, and we have never left our son to cry more than 10 seconds in his entire life. So weaning off the dummy was one of our worst fears as we did not want him to cry or do it cold turkey. He has used MAM dummies since he was born. Around 12 months old, we actively reduced his dummy use to only nap and bedtime. He used it all night long and would actively look for it during the night if it fell from his mouth. So when he turned 25 months last month, we decided it was the time to stop using his dummy. I don’t think it will be any easier in 6-12 months time, so we bought this “Frida baby pacifier weaning system” on Amazon. We started using dummy 1 on a Saturday and every couple days changed to the next dummy from the pack. After a week, we reached dummy 5 and then we just stopped offering. He asked for it a couple times every night, but no tears. He has now been dummy free for a week. Sleep was a bit horrendous in this last week (waking up a lot during the night, but not really crying, just wanting a cuddle). But now is getting back to normal. All in all, it worked. We are very pleased we managed to do it. If anyone is on the fence, give it a go. Xx

P.s. - it is expensive and some people just cut their own dummies with scissors to achieve the same result. We didn’t want to cut our own dummies ourselves because of the risk of swallowing silicone dummy bits. :)

This thing worked like a charm. We were only on pacifier at night, but if she found one it was “MINE” and impossible to get back. We did each stage for the 2 days and by 5 we were done! 8 days (we did 2 per pacifier) and she doesn’t ask or look for it anymore.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked for our almost 3 year-old
Reviewed in the United States on 9 July 2024
Our now 3 year-old has been very attached to her pacifier at night, and occasionally when really upset. We got a book about no more pacifier and buried binky together in the yard - cold turkey - and first night she wet the bed (the only time she’s ever done that) and had really alarming night terrors. After two nights of her waking up screaming about worms in her bed, I went searching for a better option and found this. I wasn’t sure this would work her her since it seems to be for younger kiddos, so this review is for those parents in our shoes. We spent at least a few nights on each stage. And she refused #4 so we stopped with the #3 one. But that ended up doing the trick. It took a couple weeks but she slowly started taking it out and handing it to us. And then not asking for it at all. She’s asked for it once at bedtime in the past week or so. And doesn’t ask for it when she’s upset. No wetting the bed. No night terrors. Totally chill. Seems to be just over it. We’re shocked and relieved and couldn’t be happier. Only sorry we didn’t find this sooner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked for My 2.5 Year Old
Reviewed in the United States on 13 June 2024
These worked to kick the pacifier habit with my 2.5-year-old. The box says they are for 6-month-olds and only for those using orthodontic-style pacifiers. It won't work for others, but it's wrong. lol. We only made it to stage 3 before my son said he didn't need it anymore.

    Tips for Success:

When the pacifiers came, I made a big deal about it. I told him these were his new, special pacifiers, and he had to trade me his old one for it, which he was happy to do. I then went around the house and hid all the pacifiers I could find.

In the coming days when he asked for a different pacifier, I just said he could only have his new big boy special pacifier.

When he found other pacifiers around the house (happened twice), I quickly grabbed them and said, "Oh, that's my pacifier. You have your special one." Then I got that thing out of sight as quickly as possible.

I asked him if he was ready for a new pacifier every few days and he was happy to trade me.

These pacifiers have a hole on the end that gets bigger with each stage. The hole makes them hard to suck on. By the time he got to stage 3, he couldn't really suck on it, so he started just holding it and then handing it back to me and saying he didn't want it.

This was the perfect solution for me because my son was addicted to his pacifier. I'd tried giving it to him only at night, but it always found its way back into the daily rotation. I figured I'd try this before taking it away at 3 years old. And I'm so happy that it worked.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked with our MAM baby!
Reviewed in the United States on 30 June 2024
Our son used MAM pacifiers - the kind that can be flipped both ways. I was hesitant to try these since the shape is different, but figured it was worth a try. I’m happy to report that we are officially weaned, and it was so easy!

Our son was already only using his binky for sleep - naps and night. We used all 5 from the kit, but by number 4 he was barely even trying to suck on it. It was more of a comfort item to hold while sleeping.

The entire process took us just over 2 weeks from the day we started. He turned 18 months during that time period. We definitely plan to save these to use with our next baby when the time comes!
