You Are Here Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

Marnie is stuck.

Stuck working alone in her London flat, stuck battling the long afternoons and a life that increasingly feels like it's passing her by.

Michael is coming undone.

Reeling from his wife's departure, increasingly reclusive, taking himself on long, solitary walks across the moors and fells.

When a persistent mutual friend and some very English weather conspire to bring them together, Marnie and Michael suddenly find themselves alone on the most epic of walks and on the precipice of a new friendship.

But can it survive the journey?

A new love story by beloved bestseller David Nicholls, You Are Here is a novel of first encounters, second chances, and finding the way home.

You Are Here" is an instant classic from the author of "One Day." This Sunday Times bestseller captivates from the first page, with well-developed characters and a storyline that is both engaging and thought-provoking. The writing is eloquent and emotionally resonant, making it hard to put down. It explores themes of love, loss, and self-discovery in a deeply moving way. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a profound and beautifully written novel. It's a must-read!

Michael and Marnie meet on a coast to coast walk organised by a mutual friend. They are both coming out of failed marriages.
Like other books by David Nicholls it's thoroughly researched and beautifully written, especially the dialogue.
Didn't like the fact that Marnie managed to persuade her ex to repay the money he owed her so easily.
I liked the fact that the book ended positively but not in a contrived way.

I don't normally read romance type books but I enjoyed this immensley. It is a funny and charming telling of a walk (from coast to coast) during which we grow increasingly fond of the two main characters. Quite moving in parts and life affirming. Nicholls writes beautifully and I shall be checking out his other books.

I was disappointed by this novel. I had watched the TV adaptation of One Day and thoroughly enjoyed it . I hoped that this novel would be as entertaining but it fell far short of my expectations. The main characters were too self absorbed to make it at all interesting and I honestly didn’t care about them by the time I finished the narrative. I gave it three stars because certain parts were quite amusing but I felt indifferent to their fate by about half way through.I can see it being made into a Netflix series and some critics raving about it . A moderate read by an author who is capable of much better than this .

I read this in just over 24 hours, I literally did not want to put it down, wanted to know how it would end, but dreaded it ending.
David never fails to fails to impress me, he maintains a perfect balance of laugh out loud moments, and pathos.
He’s one of our greatest writers at the moment.
If you haven’t read this, do so, you won’t regret it.
I would have given a lot more than 5 stars if I could.

cant believe so many good reviews from so-called experts ... bland, empty, not believable characters ... and compare it with One Day is just blasphemy. I am afraid that after having read all his books, david nicholls is well past his prime

Delightful is the best word to describe this book - I love the way David Nichols writes. He makes me laugh out loud at times and then at others hits me with something emotional and sad. Can't wait for his next book.
