Finally a display that is not too bright for the bedroom. Adjusts its level perfectly and night mode reduces the time to a dull red that doesn’t seem to add any noticeable light to a dark room. Easy to read, nice having the weather, temperature, date and time on one screen, no ads, no dumb useless data. Very nice!
Sound is pretty good and outperforms what I expect from its size. No complaints here.

Seeing the reviews on this device, I was previously discouraged but decided to buy it anyway. I've never been excited about a buy like this.Screen: I think the screen is perfect for what the device is. Could have been better with a smart phone kinda screen and a little more responsive, but not a problem for me. There's not much screentime with this so I don't mind it.Display: The display is very OK. The brightness OK. Just a slight issue. The night mode clock display could be dimmer with more emphasis on the time itself, but it's not bright enough to disturb your sleep. So not a problem.Speaker & connectivity : This is what I love the most about this device. I'm a sucker for good sound and the quality coming out of it is perfect. I also like that you can adjust the bass quality, cos it could be really bassy.Alexa has been quite responsive on it. I've been able to give prompts without hassles.Would highly recommend

I think that’s one of this products best selling point… looks. It features a small display (which when brightened has an obvious backlight box cutout), and a dedicated good sounding speaker. Obviously, with it being an Echo product, it also controls your home, calls people, plays music for you… and so on.
The colours available are great, making it customisable and ready for any room (like mine).
The UI of the product is nice and smooth (as you’d expect at this price point and release year).
The only thing I would say is that the display cut off is really frustrating, I wish it had a curved display that utilised its circular space!
If your looking for an Echo device that matches a small space with big features, this is the one.

I have 2 Dots in the house and now I have a Spot too.
I like the little screen. It's bright enough in my opinion. I don't like screens being too bright otherwise it hurt my eyes (I'm quite sensitive to light and have my phone on dark mode and low brightness). But I can understand what some people are saying. It isn't as bright and vibrant as it could be. But knowing me I'd have tried to find a way to dim the brightness if it was like that.
The sound is great and the little visuals are lovely. She's very responsive. I had to change her wake up name to Echo as my kid's Dot is in the next room and kept thinking I was talking to.
If you're wondering why her accent is Australian it's just because I like changing her accent every so often. (It's in the device settings if you're curious how to do it).
The Spot does everything the Dot does as far as I'm aware. I will update the review if any concerns come up.

Sound is very good for a small bedside clock, screen is built into the design very nicely, and the UI is easy and pleasant to use. I like that there are no distractions in the software, keeping it a super simple but still well featured clock.
