I was ummming and arrrghing between the Tommee Tippee Baby Food Steamer Blender and the Philips Avent. I read all the reviews for both machines and was constantly changing one for the other in my basket before finally deciding on the Philips Avent and I am glad that I did. When it arrived it was well protected and easy to unpack. I sat down and read the instructions and warnings which are easily understandable. Then I decided to have a go at making my first batch of puree to freeze for my baby grandson - Cauliflower. I thought that I would have to stand over it whilst it steamed but no as it beeps when it has finished steaming. Leave the machine for a minute so as to allow all the steam to leave the container so you don't end up getting burned then it's a very simple matter of flipping over the jug and holding the button in the blender position until the food reaches the consistency that you require - which doesn't take long. Very easy to clean and in less than 45 mins I had made 1 Cauliflower in to a batch of cooked and pureed baby food ready for freezing in ice cubes trays and had cleaned and tidied it away. My only criticism is that the Recipe book needs to be looked at by Philips as each recipe is in done in all the different languages before going on to the next recipe which makes things a little bit of a palarva when trying to find a recipe it would be much better if all the recipes were in one place in one language at a time and on the picture of the different parts of the steamer/blender parts 5 & 7 are transposed. Nothing major. I would definitely recommend this Steamer/Blender, I wish this was available when my children were babies this would have made life a whole lot easier. This is a great gadget and a boon to both working/nonworking mums and nans.
