How to use the Accessibility features on Amazon.co.uk and Mobile App

We are continually working to improve the accessibility of the Amazon.co.uk store and the Amazon mobile application ("Mobile Application") so that our customers, including those with disabilities, can more easily and fully experience all of the innovative products, tools and services that Amazon offers.

How to browse Amazon using accessibility features on a desktop computer

  1. Use the screen magnifier and large font support that are built into your browsers: « Ctrl/Cmd » and « + » / « Ctrl/Cmd » and « - » / « Ctrl/Cmd » and «0 »
  2. Customize your reading experience: On your internet browser window, activate the reader view directly from the address bar. Reader view is accessible via the dedicated icon in the search bar and compatible with Firefox, Safari, Opera and Edge browsers. To access it, press F9 or Ctrl + Shift + R.
  3. Use the keyboard navigation: Use the tab and arrow keys on the keyboard to scroll up and down the page and to access any specific link.
  4. Tips for screen readers:
    1. When you’re ready to buy, use your screen reader’s “Button” quick navigation hotkey to go to the Buy Now or Add to Cart buttons.
    2. If you get stuck in a page section that continuously loads images, use your screen reader’s heading keys to navigate to a heading outside that section.
    3. Product search result titles are structured as headings. On a computer, use the heading keys or heading dialog to navigate your search results. On your mobile device, use the appropriate gestures to navigate the headings.
  5. Enable Mobile Accessibility Features: Mobile accessibility features are designed for users with visual, hearing or mobility impairments to simplify the use of an Android or iOS device.
    • To enable accessibility features on Android:
      1. Open the Settings application on your device.
      2. Select Accessibility, and then select Accessibility Menu.
      3. Turn on the Accessibility Menu Shortcut.
      4. To accept the permissions, select OK.
    • To enable accessibility features on iOS:
      1. Open the Settings app on your device.
      2. Go to Settings, then Accessibility.
      3. Choose the accessibility features you want to enable from the categories provided (vision, physical and motor, hearing, general).

Set Your Accessible Delivery Instructions

To support our customers living with disabilities, we have a dedicated field within your Delivery Instructions to allow you to communicate your accessible delivery needs.

Please see Set Your Accessible Delivery Instructions for further guidance on how to set your Accessible Delivery Instructions.

You can also enhance your shopping experience by shopping on Amazon using your voice with Alexa and shopping on the Amazon Frustration-Free storefront: Frustration-Free packaging are designed to alleviate “wrap rage” by avoiding plastic clamshell casings, plastic bindings, and wire ties – all materials that make it more difficult for customers to access items.
