Well he has done it again. I enjoyed the first book and had high hopes for the second and Rob has not disappointed. I really enjoy the legal perspective and what goes on in chambers and how Adam just wants to his best for the person he is defending. These books are intelligently written and are a ray of light in a time where cozy crime books seems to take over whether they have any substance or not.
Looking forward to next. Rob is a rare talent and as a author he is outstanding.

Clever and enjoyable, with insights into how the machinery of law functions. Rob Rinder writes well, and this book revisits and develops characters and relationships from his first novel "The Trial". His style of writing is energetic, and contains little descriptive gems such as "a hint of daytime telly in a Proust novel". However, he is let down by the convoluted plots that are the basis of the murders at the heart of his books. I look forward to his next novel - perhaps grounded in non celebrity world?

Great storyline that flowed well and gave a good insight into the legal system. Thoroughly enjoyed this book, as I have all his books. Would definitely recommend it. Rob doesn't disappoint!

Again I enjoyed this book and the familiar characters appearing from the first book. I think the running theme is going to be the last minute piece of evidence solving the crime just in time , I was actually waiting for it near the end ! Hope Rob continues to write books featuring these characters, looking forward to the next one .

Make no mistake, I still found this book engaging and interesting, and Rinder writes really well. I found it hard to put down, as I enjoyed meeting the cast of characters again, and I wanted to keep finding out what happened next in this fast moving tale.

By the time I was just under half way through the book, it was becoming obvious that the structure of the story was more or less the same as The Trial, although there were different storylines woven through it. Whilst I enjoyed this book, I'll be more wary of purchasing any future books in case they are another reworking of this - sorry Rob.

I sat in the sun and devoured this in a day. Well written, excellent pace of story with a few twists. I can read these much faster than they can be written. I hope Adam Green has a long and prosperous career.
