Surprisingly good

I'll be honest, for the price I wasn't expecting too much. Instead I've been impressed the first time I used this headphones, even the louds are incredibly good. I was hoping it was a bit more foldable, but it's fine, it folds flat. I really don't like the in-ear ones so this is a perfect cheap alternative.

These break so easily

I've had about ten pairs of these over the years, simply as the sound quality is so excellent. I should say, more recently I've opened two packs that are faulty i.e. one 'ear' is bust or crackles. Sadly, I am now OUT on JVC due to this weakness in production and frailty of the wires.

Do not buy - it doesn't work with modern smartphones

When you plug it into the phone jack you get a message saying "not compatible".
I contacted JVC who said this product was no longer supported and may not work with new smartphones (mine is over 2 years old). They suggested I contactt he seller for a refund. This is the reply I got. What a waste of money.

Ridiculously fragile - broke in less than a day.

Although these were comfortable and sounded surprisingly good for such an inexpensive set of headphones, their build quality was dreadful. Just one day after arriving the left ear cup broke off of the head band, rendering the set completely useless. Despite the strong looking ear piece connections, both ear cups are only coupled to the head band by a thin and very fragile metal pin. This pin broke when putting the headphones on for only the second or third time (with no undue force used).
I’ve sent these back for a refund which is a shame as they looked great, sounded surprisingly good and were comfortable to wear. Although these may have been a bad set, I really didn’t feel comfortable enough in their build quality order a replacement set.

I've had a few pairs of JVC headphones now, but these have been the only ones I felt strongly enough about to review.
When I first got the headphones I was really impressed at the bass from in-ear headphones. Sound quality was good and price was good.

Then about three weeks after buying, I took them out of my pocket to find that one side had snapped completely off. The actual speaker part had snapped off from the main body and was left hanging off with the wires hanging out. I hadn't mistreated them, I had only had them a few weeks and they broke. They broke because the actual speakers are more or less at a right-angle to the body.

I still have an older pair of similar JVC headphone (but the speaker is inline with the body) and they have survived 3 years without any damage at all but these couldn't even survive three weeks.

Terrible build Quality

Ignoring for a second the terrible sound (these things don't just give you a lot of low end, they distort the sound beyond recognition at times, and I am not a audiophile), the build quality is horrible. 2 months in and the ear piece has separated. Not broken, just come apart at the join and won't stay together if you try and clip it back in. I now have a pair of earphones which fall apart and have to pressed back into place on every use.

Moving back to the sound quality, I think i may have a defective pair, because there is no way somebody could put out a pair of earphones this bad and still get away with anything sort of 100s of 1 star reviews. It's like listening to music really loud through a set of busted speakers, the sound reproduction is so bad you'd swear it wasn't the song you played.
