In 2018, Ayushmann Khurrana's wife and filmmaker Tahira Kashyap bravely faced a diagnosis of 'stage 0' breast cancer, undergoing a mastectomy procedure and triumphing over the disease. In her Instagram post at the time, she wrote, “I was detected with DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) in my right breast with high-grade malignant cells. Simply put stage 0 cancer/ pre-cancerous stage, with cancer cells multiplying in a contained area. The result I have become a half Indian version of Angelina Jolie (since only one breast was involved)! I told my doctor now is the time to give some competition to the Kardashians since Pamela is passé.” (Instagram/ Tahira Kashyap)

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue received her diagnosis of early stage breast cancer in 2005, when she was 39, just months after her doctor initially cleared her — or gave her a misdiagnosis — she says. Four days after her diagnosis, she had surgery and then began chemotherapy. (AFP)
