In 2022, DGT began an exciting project with the Scrooby Parish Council in England to complete 3D scans of the historic Plymouth Rock in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The scans were used by a local British artist, Mike Johnson, to create a bronze replica of the rock. The town of Scrooby, home of former Plymouth Colony leader William Brewster, commissioned the bronze statue to honor the Pilgrims and their village history. We are thrilled to announce that the statue's official unveiling will take place on September 7th at the Annual Scrooby Show in north Nottinghamshire, England, held on the Saturday closest to Mayflower Day. 🏠 Boston’s battle for affordable housing continues. Despite the Greater Boston Area’s short housing supply, the Boston Planning & Development Agency A reported nearly 23,000 housing units stuck in the pipeline in 2023, including 20,000 40B mixed-income units. Developers are struggling to secure sufficient financing with the dramatic rise in construction-related costs, including building materials jumping 43%. 🌎 Last month, Eversource Energy kicked off a 24-month pilot for a networked geothermal system in Framingham, MA. The first-of-its-kind project leverages renewable power produced in the earth’s core to generate heating and cooling for 36 buildings, 24 of which are residential homes. If successful, the program’s technology could complement or replace delivered fuels and natural gasses as an affordable clean energy source. The event is dedicated to raising money for the Caroline Pinette Memorial Scholarship Fund and Sweet Caroline ACC Research Fund, which provides research and program support for adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) and adrenal cancer care.
