If you had told me when I graduated from Philadelphia University (Thomas Jefferson University)in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and Management, that I would be building a career in retail, I would have told you that you were crazy. Me? In retail? I was too anxious even at 22 years-old to talk on the phone to most relatives when they would call me for my birthday. How would I be able to excel in a role were talking to new people every day was required? Well, fast forward five years and now I am the new Assistant Manager at the LOFT Valley Square Store in Warrington, PA. Over the past five years, with the support of my SM Danielle Wright, Loft has helped me hone in on my visual merchandising skillset. I've gained product and styling knowledge and I have been able to build lasting relationships with clients. (And, yes, I can even talk on the phone with clients without an ounce of anxiety) If you are just graduating college or looking to get your start in the fashion industry, hands on retail experience is a great place to start. Reflecting on her professional journey, Agnes shares, "When I started my career, I was fresh out of school and so eager to learn.
